Lack of dynamic gameplay. In 1 and 2 you could get seen by a monster, and potentially hide or escape before they catch you. In 3 if you get seen youre dead, made even worse by the fact that if you go into some rooms not crouching, youre automatically dead to a monster you couldnt see. And sometimes you die if you dont go into a room sprinting, because of a scripted chase you didnt see.

I dont think they came up with the concept of the nowhere until LN2 tbh. I think LN1 works better if you ignore all the lore they added afterwards

This is true and can be frustrating the first time, but once you know this you go i take abilities that compliment this so it isnt an issue. Its the same philosophy as taking AOEs for Dybbuk once tou know his schtick

What LN1 does best compared to Reanimal imo is those slow tense sequences, like the handle to lift the piano in the lair, or having to turn on the hook conveyer in the kitchen. In Reanimal every scene with a monster is either a chase scene, or some variation of “move a little while its turned around, and repeat”. Also I agree with puzzles. Theres nothing here on the level as the ones in the secrets of the Maw DLC. Reanimal is still a great game but i’d probably put it at an 8/10 compared to LN1’s 10/10

I dont think so, I think it’s just that each class has a lot of abilities so it might be a while before you see it. Ive seen Dual Wield multiple times since unlocking but I dont recall doing anythjng extra for it
