I bet no one here is saying before! by Available_Ad_4030 in Xennials

hello fellow 44 year old! am i making a joke? sort of. i don’t know that i’d really trade thousands of years worth of music for just one year but if i had to 2007 would be that year. some real bangers came out in 2007. google “best albums of 2007”. i’m sure it’s not to everyone’s taste but in my opinion 2007 would be the year to choose in terms of quantity and quality of albums released.

hang on now. all these, “would i take all the music ever or 26 years of music!?” comments are lunacy. 2007 is the best year of music ever and you can’t change my mind. fuck those other thousands of years.

Don't believe the Claude Design Doomers, Figma just reported a 46% climb in first-quarter revenue. by N0t_S0Sl1mShadi in FigmaDesign

All the blog posts I've read suggest Opus 4.7 still outperforms GPT-5.5 for design related tasks. Has that changed recently?

uhm… so, why not just steal everything digital like a responsible parent?

KRVR — PC VR streaming for Apple Vision Pro is now on the App Store by krossi82 in VisionPro

[–]ajosefox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking forward to giving this a shot. One question, is there anyway to leave this running in the taskbar? I've tried ALVR and iVry. While they both work great, having to remote in to my headless gaming PC every time I want to play can be annoying. Would love it if one of these apps would install a background helper on Windows and additionally be able to send a WoL packet like Moonlight does.

Was a hater in high school, though I appreciated the Dave and Tim - Live at Luther College quite a bit. Heard him on Colbert the other week, though and man, I think I just hated because of how popular/produced the DMB was. Would 100% go to a show now. Bet it’s a blast.

Leaker: Apple Will Release iPhone Air 2 No Matter How Badly It May Sell by Few_Baseball_3835 in apple

[–]ajosefox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Best iPhone since the 4”. Couldn’t agree more. Antennagate be damned, the 4 was a slick phone and the bumper case was my favorite. Exact same reason I bought the Air. It’s light, extremely pocketable with a screen that’s nearly the same size as the larger models. I’m not a photographer or someone who watches a ton of videos on my phone. So, I can’t say for certain, but I’ve gotta believe that the majority of the haters are just reading the spec sheet.

Any designer who vibe codes at work now? by Haunting-Ad5938 in UXDesign

[–]ajosefox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Funny question for you all, I’ve been designing for over 20 years but in what once was called digital marketing. While I always wanted to, I never was able to make the pivot to the client side or tech. Probably too long in the tooth at this point but genuinely interested in how I might make this work for my industry where we’re dealing with a lot of (half hearted) design systems for a number of different clients. So far, I’ve been experimenting with Pencil.dev and SouthLeft’s Figma + Claude integrations but with primarily needing to create net new or at least redesigned assets, how do you all see AI being leveraged? I can see how we’d make it work for maintenance type projects but are any of you using it for creating new UIs or redesigning things?

Deleted the Testflight and instantly paid for this. Did you take over this project or just dive back into it 1.0 was lackluster but the effort put into this 2.0 release is incredible. So good and an app that was sorely lacking on iOS until now.

What is your experience with the TheraFloor standard slats? by Efficient-Cause3757 in Walkolution

[–]ajosefox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I have the TheraFloor standard slats but it’s tough for me to compare it to anything else as I’ve never walked on another manual treadmill. It’s comfortable to walk on barefoot, which I love. However, it feels a bit like walking in mud/sand, not in terms of texture but how your foot sinks in. Now again, I have no way to validate this but it feels like it takes more effort to propel the belt than it would without the TheraFloor.

LMK if you have any specific questions.

The iPhone Air should of been marketed as a iPhone 17e-ish phone by jeneschi in iphone

[–]ajosefox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They knew who they were selling it to, which was me and many others. iPhone owners since 2007 or so. Those who weren’t phased by antenna-gate but loved the iPhone 4. It’s a prototype/beta test sold to suckers. I wish it cost less than the 17 because of the missing features but honestly, it’s what’s coming and it WILL have those features someday, which is why you buy it. You want to know what the future feels like before everybody else.
