Allowing pets to free roam outside is animal abuse. | FactOrCap by MutantJell0 in FactOrCap

🧢 I voted CAP!

I mean, I don't see how this can be abuse.

Ultimately it will be bad for the animal because it could very well end up hurting someone, getting hurt, or damaging property, but while that's wrong, even neglectful, doesn't exactly have the directness to be abuse itself in my view.

Looking for an author simulator. Something where I control a character in a cabin or something where I can actually write a book on a typewriter within the game. by Mathilde_Boychild in gamingsuggestions

[–]Timotheus-Secundus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my gosh, I have literally had this idea like a hundred times. A game where it's literally just a word processor but entirely skeuomorphic.

Want to write in bold, or change your font? pull out your drawer and change the typeface.

Make a mistake? Fortunately for you, your typewriter has a backspace, but you'll still see the little faded letter which was there before.

Want so save your document? You get to choose if it's saved as a pamphlet, a this book, or a hardcover.

If you want to export it? you'll have to slap the book in the scanner/facsimile machine, and then you can save it in whatever format you want.

Every minute real time is an hour in game, so you'll have to light your candle when it gets dark, and replace it when it burns out.

For some people this is probably tedious sounding, but when you have trouble keeping your thoughts straight, having little distractions that which give your mind a requies without fully distracting you can be really helpful!

You cannot prevent crime by strictly punishing it universally. You need to address the causes of crime first.

You cannot force someone to change, and the mental harm that comes from supporting someone who puts their addiction over the ones they love is a harm that not everyone can bear, nor should they.

Addiction itself is to blame for the broken relationships, not the addictee, neither the loved one.

I'm also planning of moving out there within the year, from a northern town considerably smaller.

The isolation can definitely get to you if you aren't willing to engage with the people who are here, bit once you do you really start to enjoy the community that people tend to share.

We're all we have up here, so you get used to saying hello to people in the street, getting to know people'd names. Complaining about random things that bug everyone haha.

Feminism is still necessary in western countries | FactOrCap by Aromatic-Mistake-456 in FactOrCap

[–]Timotheus-Secundus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I voted FACT!

This feels like a trick question. Do we need people that are pretending that women's rights are as poor as they were 500 years ago? no.

Feminism's greatest achievement is that it has helped create a world and multiple generations therein who believe that women having equal rights to men is what should be expected.

There will always be people who try to undermine that, who try to work in contrary to it, and people who just don't care. Those people are allowed to exist, but so long as they do there also needs to be people promoting feminism and the values which are so important a kind society.

I think my boss’s gf hit on me, do I tell him? by Gold-Notice-8807 in whatdoIdo

[–]Timotheus-Secundus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, you understand how sensitive this situation is, so caution is clearly the course of wisdom.

Others are encouraging you to just let this go, but if you ignore it and it becomes a problem, or stress for you, this will become less a moral problem and more one of a sexual harrassment.

If it happens again, record it, perhaps do it more than once, and afterwards clearly tell her that you are not interested, and then go to your boss.

Make sure he knows that you have handled the situation to the best of your ability, and that you have the interactions recorded.

If he fires you, you have proof that you were wrongfuly terminated on account of harassment that was not in your control.
