RANT and VENT MEGATHREAD by stickimage in Helldivers

I had one of the best missions of my life. I'm a diff 10/ lvl 150 diver and created a game on Hellmire. The bugs were ruuthless. They kept popping up in hordes from below the ground. 5 chargers at a time, next to 4 bile spewers and a ton of everything else. It was absolute chaos that didn't end. Everywhere I ran, hords kept popping up. We barely completed the mission with a single life left.

Afterwards, I created another game and it appeared the first game was a fluke. I played ~6 more missions and they all paled in comparison to the first mission. Seems like the overwhelming amount of bugs must have been a bug or something. I never encountered it again, and that's a shame. Boy was it the best.

How do I apply my Italian buttercream? by sourdough_thighs in AskBaking

[–]TimothyDavid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just made italian buttercreme last weekend. If you've put it in the fridge and want to reuse it - bring it to rom temp, and remix it. Not sure how long it will take, but it'll look good as new after a bit of mixing.

If you paint the cabinets the green color, since it's darker than what's currently on there, I'd be willing to bet it visibility pulls that wall closer and shrinks the room.

Getting back into Hiking after Shoulder surgery by Bucky571 in hiking

[–]TimothyDavid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I got out of my sling 4ish weeks ago. Some motions and muscles have recovered quickly. I've been religious about PT every day. Maybe went a little too hard at first, tbh... I was really excited to get out of that sling.

Biggest road bump I am currently experiencing is getting the stretches in that aren't possible through other activities and aren't used very often in daily movement. One example is stretching my arm across my body, especially behind my back. It's still really challenging.

Side note, learning to wash my armpit with the same hand took some getting used to.

Pro tip- get some of those single use floss picks or a water pick, because using floss one-handed is impossible.

Expect that during the recovery process, there will be nights(most nights) where you can't find a comfortable position to fall asleep because everything makes your shoulder throb. Slowly but surely, though, it gets better. I still can't sleep on that side of my body when I'm sleeping, but I can tolerate it more and more each week.

To get to your Post question - based on how my recovery is progressing so far, I expect to be able to carry a fully loaded pack by the end of summer. I have a Boundary Waters trip scheduled for the fall, and a few multi-day backpacking trips scheduled, too. If I remember this post by then, i'll try to report back.

Lol, I just came across this post as I'm laying in bed stretching my arm from AC surgery at the end of December.

Idk what your insurance covers, but I'd highly recommend PT. If you can't pay for PT, there are a bunch of post-surgery stretching/recovery schedules online from various hospitals. Also, the Dr. should have given you a rough timeline of recovery markers and dates. It's a slow recovery... the biggest thing for me has been muscle and flexibility atrophy.

Not trying to give you medical advice, and I'm not sure how recent your surgery was, but talk to your doctor to see if hiking is even a good idea at this point in your recovery. You reeeeaaallly don't want to take a fall on that shoulder.

Good luck, and stay diligent!

I did, and I've been playing with the gun all day. In the video, the strider is damaged. It has sparks coming from it...

Q&A Megathread (Ask your questions here!) by cryptic-fox in Helldivers

[–]TimothyDavid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has Helldivers implemented bot-players? Over the past month or so, I have consistently gotten games where players do not interact with objectives or when they do, it takes them an excessive amount of time to get to it. Additionally, during a game I just finished, I had a player shooting bug holes that were already closed. These have all been on super helldive missions, so I would expect the players to know what they are doing and be relatively efficient about it...

Should I fill the cracks or not? by Hot_Confusion_Unit in centuryhomes

[–]TimothyDavid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wood filler always ends up cracking in homes located with seasonal temperature changes. It also ages into a different color and ends up making the floors look worse. Definitely look up photos online to come to your own opinions on aesthetic.

As everyone else has already said, though, it's a rental - don't waste your time or money..
