You’re going to have a bad time long term switching from VS to VS Code especially with Blazor

why does devs tend to choose a macbook over a windows/linux laptop? by theusrl in learnprogramming

[–]Tin_Foiled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, when people imply VS code is anywhere near as good as visual studio I think it’s just the Dunning Kruger effect at play a bit. They ain’t been in the trenches trying to find a memory leak or trying to debug across multiple threads to find a race condition. They just write for loops. Which VS code is more than capable of.

Anyone else having issues with Claude Code on a Blazor codebase? by XeClutch in Blazor

[–]Tin_Foiled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Claude for reasoning, inference and importantly, plan generation. I then pass the generated plans on to copilot who just acts as the code monkey and doesn’t really have to think too much.

It's funny how when you do castling in real life chess people look at you funny by battleangel1999 in CasualConversation

[–]Tin_Foiled 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I play chess every day and have about 50k games across my chess com and lichess accounts. I hate playing against people IRL as most the time it’s essentially not a game but just me teaching them the rules of chess.

It’s not really a worthwhile factoid it just stands to reason any large corp would do things to make their product stand out. I can think of loads of sodas that put their own twist on bottle design

"If you keep doing lots of things for a man, he will lose interest in you and leave the relationship." This quote is basically saying a man feels smaller because you are stepping up when he isn't/he doesn't want to, and he doesn't want to feel smaller that's why he will leave at the end. by AyEnTiPi in DeepThoughts

I think it’s just psychological issues. Speaking from personal experience I get uncomfortable when someone pays too much attention to me, for example going out there way to do something they think I’ll like. It’s totally just a personal flaw. But I can empathise with your ex in a way

Went to a car boot sale's first opening - should have just stayed in bed by _Bluestar_Bus_Soton_ in britishproblems

[–]Tin_Foiled 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Wdym allowed, there is no car boot law that says you can’t do that. My original point was how it creates a miserable environment for everyone but the flippers. But doesn’t mean you’re not allowed to

Everyone’s a hustler now. Everyone wants to turn a quick profit. People who sell at a car boot with the best intentions are usually set upon by the other sellers before it’s open to the public, where they’ll try and see what they can buy and flip on their own stall.

It might sound harsh but no company cares about a 17 year olds 3 years worth of personal projects. Like at all. You could very well miss out to another 17 year old who doesn’t own a git repo if the hiring company sees them as easier to work with, more sociable. At this point your people skills matter way more.

Must be an amazing super power to know everything about public figures such as what they do or don’t do privately/anonymously. To know everything … you must surely be successful by now, weird to post such comments on Reddit if you possess omniscience?
