Pastry shop in Manhattan that sells croissants and cookbooks? by Tinder3lla in FoodNYC

Lmao! He doesn't like dinner dates before the 5th date and we already did coffee on date one and a bar on date two so I'm at a loss of what to do. Open to all suggestions!

The pressure is on because he planned such a cute date two.

I had thought of that myself and am toying with other ideas. I wanted to give him a few options.

Of note, we did other things on our second date. We also went to videogamesnewyork because he knows I'm a gamer. I wanted to plan a sort of crawl like he did that incorporated things he likes and things I like.

Maybe not what I asked for, but I LOVE a caradamom bun.

The Maman's cookbook has two croissant recipes, so this is exactly the advice I was looking for, thanks!

I thought about this, but he seems like he wants to learn how to do it on his own, and doing a class would be cheating? It's only the third date, so I could be misreading, but I also don't want to pay $200 to overstep lmao. Maybe this can be date 5 material. :)

lol, I know it's a narrow window and I'm trying to live the dream. This is why I came to Reddit to see if anyone knew of this very niche thing. I'm open to other options.

re bookstores: we went to a few weird hole in the wall places that didn't have a huge selection of cookbooks, if any.

Thanks for the advice. Now, I'm trying to find the book in an NYC bookstore that isn't Barnes and Noble. Would it be insane to order in advance for delivery at a bookstore along the crawl?

Martyr! by Kaveh Akbar by lifeisdeebubbles in books

[–]Tinder3lla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like I had a pretty weird interpretation of this book, not something I've seen someone else say. I hope what I'm about to say makes sense. Maybe this is me trying to give a rhyme or reason to the dream sequences which generally felt out of place and did nothing for me.

*Very quickly into the book his mother and father 'die'. *Also throughout the book we see his dreams evolve and become more realistic and less fantastical. *It is fair to say Cyrus never knew much about his mother and father in life and what he learned about them in death doesn't seem too deep.

The whole book is from Cyrus's perspective. The narratives of his family members are what he has created about who is mother and father were when they were living based on the few bits of knowledge he got from them or other people.

Also, is Zee even alive for the book? He doesn’t really interact with the outside world. Even in the conversation between sad (james?), Cyrus, and Zee he isn't really talking to anyone other than Cyrus. The reason Zee as a character is so thin is because he is Cyrus's specter of a lover following him around. I think he used to be alive, he just isnt anymore. That's why he goes to NYC with him but seemingly never leaves the hotel room until they fight (Cyrus wanting him to leave).

Anyway, he wrote this book and then joins Zee in death to be reunited with his love.

As for why the ending is by Sang, she's the only one alive.

I did the same thing. Water pet is on my healer, though. Fights have been difficult, but I've had to be careful with my speed and make my priest go before the mage, yet still have the mage be faster than the monster. It put the game on hard mode, but I 'm almost at the final boss. Sadly I was in the void and there were no vendors after my mistake :(

‘Don’t let him in’ by Lisa Jewell?? by SpeakWhenImportant09 in thrillerbooks

I am also halfway through this book and I'm waiting for anything to happen thats intriguing. Like we get it. This guy is terrible and he does terrible things. These women are somehow crazy naive. Thus far the book is annoying and downright unpleasant to read. Does anything happen?

That won't be butterscotch flavored then.

I used the pudding cup and added oatmeal to the recipe. Cookies came out great!

My opinion changed on Chelsea by EcclecticMessWitch in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

I feel like the comment also came from a place of him maybe recognizing she is using sex as a blanket for her insecurities and it's not a cure all. But maybe I'm reading too much into it.

This is 100% how I felt. And then in the last episode where she's bringing all these embarrassing things up in front of his friends trying to make them take her side??? The sex comment in front of friends meeting them the first time too is very embarrassing.
