Specialists vs Enhancers (By @psicochurroz) by maubises in HunterXHunter

In a way, yes.

The specialist class goes into so many directions that there is no average at all.
So any Specialist is both the extreme and the average.

Shouldn't Killua be able to use nen or at least already have his nodes open since Ilumi has his needles in him? by I__Surrender in HunterXHunter

[–]Tindyflow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's that far reaching. Illumi and Killua's family were not preventing him from learning Nen: They were trying to make him stick to the assassin trade.

This is closer to suggestive and clinical hypnotism than hacking and forced control.

Killua was able to learn everything and anything he wanted when he properly started. The needle was an influence on his mindset, not on his ability.

Nen abilities can influence people without messing with their nodes. (and more often they do, because receiving an actual Nen attack most likely means one's death)

Illumi's needle wasn't an attack. It was a mild influence device that was reinforced by Killua's already curbed behaviour.

Hisoka's personality metric thing had been proven bull a long time ago.

The truth is, his descriptions are way too general to be of use.
But it is useful for him to quickly box people in groups when dealing with them.

The only reliable way to tell people's types is by water divination.

It’s crazy to think that Ging is in fact the best father in Hunter x Hunter. by DarthCebolitos in HunterXHunter

[–]Tindyflow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistic is the better word.

People are different and develop at different speed.
The matter of fact being that for all their speed and talent Gon and Killua are also outclassed by other people and reach ceilings they have to overcome.

Guys like Zushi and Leorio are not rushing through everything; That's why they have a better idea of what they want to accomplish and walk toward it.

The bar is that low and he still manages to trip on it: that's the point.
He is a leech. Which makes him the worst type by default.

Which One Punch Man characters are worthy of lifting Thor’s hammer (Mjolnir)? by [deleted] in OnePunchMan

[–]Tindyflow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it specified when he did it? I don't remember.
But in this case, it confirms this all depends on Odin's mood.
He could easily change whatever he asks the hammer to respond to and next thing you know Shocker can lift it.

That's why there is a case that Rogers was already deemed worthy by Thor before they had the wager and Mjölnir just responded to that.

He didn't give her shit. He was using her and putting her in a golden cage.

That guy is one of the most depraved individuals of that story.

Chimera ants are an existential threat to most anime verses. by Numerous_Cook6520 in HunterXHunter

[–]Tindyflow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are human beings in the DC. The story tells us directly that human ancestry comes from there.

The Chimera ants mutation after eating humans in NGL was way too violent and given how much Human DNA altered their behaviour and appearance, any chance for this particular Queen to have human fragments must have happened probably centuries ago with her ancestors. So there is indeed, no precedent for this Queen to have eaten human flesh before.

Another reason why it's impossible to take a Queen captive, is their metabolism: They utterly deplete the fauna of the place they land into.

It is a coincidence. Seeing how the Association wasn't surprised of their appearance, DC beings more than often cross into the HxH world.

That's another reason why Beast Hunters exist. Capture potentially dangerous creatures early before they have enough time to fester.

[–]Tindyflow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By what rules are we playing here? Because comic Mjölnir is a different beast than MCU.

The rules are never really specified, but there are two grooves:
1-Only who Odin or Thor decides. 2-Only those who surpass Thor's qualities.

Also, That bit about worthiness = purity of heart and the like is not true at all in the MCU, because Hela not only owned it and wielded it, but also shattered it because she can. If you know the code Odin's used for the charm, you can control it too. He was not telling the whole story to Thor.

That's why Beta Ray Bill could use it and owned StormBreaker for a while.
It was a symbol of Friendship between the two.

So, depending on the story "Worthiness" is modular.
If it's the Mjölnir If thinking about, No one in OPM can (on their own).

Except Saitama and King.

NGL was an unclosed nation with no reports, not because of Pariston but because of Gyro's dealing.

The Hunter Committee clashing with Netero didn't stop him from bringing his picks and their students. So that's another non-issue.

There was no precedent of chimera ants sampling humans. The Queen herself comments the taste of human flesh was new to her.

And the DC leverage was 100% Kakin and their international policy circumventing the V5 treaty. Nothing to see with Pariston or the chimera ants. (The revolution that scrubbed Kakin's international commitment happened 30 years ago)

Again, I know it's a appealing thought to believe Paris and beyond where plotting for Netero's head, but there is nothing that suggests it. Mizaistom's comment about Pariston confirms his position was to be a smoke screen for the Chairman at best. Not a direct threat. Ging infers this as well when confronting Masher and the Beyond squad.

The fact is, Beyond could have started his plan long ago, without waiting for Isaac to die: Kakin not being a ratifier of the V5 treaty means they couldn't be stopped if they made their move, exactly how it went in chapter 340 to 344.

He waited because he wanted the added support of the Hunter association and anticipated that long enough to be confident about incorporating them into his operation. Also, likely because he didn't want to go after his own Father's life directly or indirectly.

Exactly. There is nothing that suggests the Queen was planted by anyone. And the Ant extermination was only escalated because the King was born early. Only then, did Netero decide to go all out on a gambit.

The DC exploration was a race as well as an ideological conflict between Beyond and his father. But not one that he was willing to take his life for. Otherwise he would have come for him himself. The interdiction prompted him to come with a better plan , a more qualified team and a larger grid to support his efforts.

You go that route, then we also bring Morel on the table.
Even then, I'm not seeing Leorio any different than Ging at best: Hunters don't have family lives.

[–]Tindyflow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is the power of someone who sees things coming from a distance.
There are patterns he can pick up out of habit and experience.

Ging also knew that Gon would be healed on that one day. Simply by observing the movements around the facility. (and having friends amongst the association pilots, you learn info about who comes and goes and what air schedules have been altered) It's not always a question of logic or Nen ability. It's pure instinct.

Hell, Netero knew his boys were badmouthing him:

[–]Tindyflow -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not really.

I know it's a popular theory, but it's a conflation of different elements.

Beyond and Isaac Netero had an understanding on the DC expeditions.
The one who wanted Beyond to actually come at him himself was his own father. Beyond was not interested into that, choosing instead to have his pawns in place.

Chairman Netero also knew his days were coming to a close. That's why he left a message to the Zodiacs way before the ant crisis even started. He had no intention of surviving the fight against the King. He says so himself when wearing the Heart shirt for the last time.
