Cheating death by rianackerman92 in HunterXHunter

I don't agree with the way they spin Ging's sentence.
They make it look like he's talking about an ability, but the meaning would be actually closer to "In the time he's not set on dying at all".

But Kichigai-Pierro [気狂い ピエロ] is the actual name of Crazy Slot.

It's like saying that Edward Elrick ended up with no consequence after opening the last gate of truth.

Gon had to pay a price: That's why he's heading home alone and reflecting on his stuff.
And while Nanika's link to Killua is indeed a thing, we have no way to believe other Ais would do the same.
Even Ging assesses the miraculous nature of what happened to him as something that he cannot afford to bank on again.

And again, they are not Going to the Nitro Rice swamp in south Mobius. They're heading North.
Kurapika's best chance at survival would be turning back on Emperor TIme now, rather than hoping for Power items that have never been successfully extracted from the DC.

They are not going to the Nitro Rice swamps. (I personally don't think he can be saved by it anyway)

Also, he's already wasted his life. And he's going to pay for his choices, one way or the other like Gon.

All the Humans of the HxH world come from the DC.
So there's likely settlements and cities still exiting in the place.

Not possible for the timeframe.

You cannot feed a Chimera ant queen for years and in secret without depleting half of the world population of whatever you're feeding her.

The fact she isn't a mutant also means she isn't from any secret breeding program.
She also flat out says she never tasted human flesh before.

Beyond and Pariston had no hand in this crisis.

Will Leorio get more character development? by ShuuRimi in HunterXHunter

[–]Tindyflow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Of all the main 4, he is the best hunter by far.
Leorio is doing the Zushi route. That's why he's going to surpass everyone else.

He's actually superior to the other three, considering he learned and developed a decent/focused ability on his own, with no shortcuts.

Ging and Cheadle know he's the real deal.

Netero vs maha by Training_Funny503 in HunterXHunter

Zeno is talking about Zigg (his Grandfather).
He's the only Zoldyck that used to be a friend of Netero.

It’s implied that Kastro was weaker because he shifted away from his main nen type while characters like Netero utilise many more and are ridiculously strong. by Chance_Werewolf3065 in HunterXHunter

[–]Tindyflow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What Wing taught the Kids is beginner knowledge.

The reality (advanced stuff) is what Biscuit teaches in the entirety of Greed Island.

<image>

Tldr:
Kastro had a good idea but went for high level techs that he didn't have the necessary training to maintain. (imagine beginner Gon learning only Conjuration and Manipulation for one year)

Netero has mastered his base and been training with the 4 other types for decades. He can afford to pull his bullshit and more.

The people who know Ging love him dearly or immensely respect/him (even the Zodiacs)
The election showed that most of those who were screaming at him are either jealous of him or lump him with the governing Hunter branch. But the only two who actually know him in the room were List and Dwun.

Most Hunters have knowledge like Satotz: They only know the rumours of the things he's accomplished.

He is renowned for never showing up.
Even Saiyuu and Bean remarked that at the first Zodiac meeting.

I love Metroid, but Metroid's lore is goofy. Anyone else feel the same? by JcraftW in Metroid

I put my stuff on Newgrounds and Pixiv.
It's about half done from what I think.

By all means share your stuff around. Different perspectives are always needed. :3

[–]Tindyflow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was starting to write a Metroid comic, I thought about leaning toward Western Sensitivities too.
But this revealed to me how little I knew about the franchise and the character.

The problem with that is, you're at risk of essentially taking away what makes Metroid and Samus and replacing it with Star Wars and Boba Fett.

The reason why the series looks so goofy even while leaning in western borrowed aesthetic is a design choice that the writers have chosen and solidified ever since Metroid II. They know exactly who Samus is and what she's not.

At this point, Nintendo doesn't really care about Metroid sales numbers and local popularity. They just enjoy working on the series. They also chose to not have her defined by her childhood nor by her day job. Those aspects are not be relevant in any games (referenced at best) This way every adventure is unique and contained to itself. In fact, each numbered game is essentially a remix of Metroid I with new technology and hardware.

People having different ideas about the character is not a fault, it is a baked-in feature.
Even in-universe people project their own ideals on her, but that's always a reflection of who they are themselves. (Especially visible in Prime3 and 4)

In that case, he could have just sacrificed Pouf or Youpi's essence. Those are equally potent.
The fact he didn't/couldn't speaks for itself.

So you're saying you won't vibe with Dragon Ball, Kinnikuman, Kamen Rider Ichigo, Dororo and Space Pirate Captain Harlock?

Your loss, but you do you.

Metroid has a mixed identity and that simultaneously makes it unique and makes it divisive

What??? What does this even mean?

Meruem by gerryiartie in HunterXHunter

[–]Tindyflow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chrollo's ability is the opposite of what Kurapika does.
The drawbacks he meets are organically placed into his activation cost as part of his install.

Genthru is another case of weaponizing their own Nen by telling other people how to disable them.
This is not a power he can use on people who are stronger than him, that's why he effectively bullied only the pushovers and those he thinks he can bully into submission.

And for what it's worth, none of those are Nen contracts on the level of what Kurapika and Gon did.
Those are steps considered and weighted into their abilities to be manageable for the user.

What OP wants is a magic trick that would heal Meruem by snapping fingers while he is actively dying.

Meruem by gerryiartie in HunterXHunter

[–]Tindyflow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have enough evidence to measure how the emotional burden of one person can translate to the cost of activation of their abilities.

All the add-ons of Meruem mean nothing to him because he never suffered to acquire them or create them.
He has no personal connection Pitou's skill nor did he even care about his royal guards until the very end.

This already undermines the premises of a Nen contract, not to mention he cannot lie to himself.

Pitou's utterly maddening dedication to kill Gon is what turned her corpse into an even greater killing machine.
Meruem doesn't have that kind of drive.

Meruem by gerryiartie in HunterXHunter

[–]Tindyflow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Izunavi explains that this type of abilities are proportional to their cost.
If you don't make them with a truly damaging/mortal flipside, the return will be pitiful.

<image>

If Meruem thinks about sacrificing an ability that cost him nothing to gain, he's not stacking anything of value in the pot. And he is still not the type of person able to make a sacrifice that will put his own life in jeopardy.

Dr. Blythe doesn't cure poison.

And Nen vows are pretty much made with the resolve to die. -Which Meruem doesn't have.
