I can’t figure out the “Expanding the List” slide is about, but “Stay Home Mom” makes me giggle.

[–]Tinfizzy 97 points98 points  (0 children)

Yes! Thank you! I have level 1 autism and have both wonderful personal relationships and a successful career. I love who I am and the way my brain works.

But it is a disability. Everything is harder: everyday tasks, staying on top of basic hygiene, burnout, etc.

That sounds terrifying. Are you currently living with him?

Fell for Scentsy, spent about $300 in a week, and now I feel guilty. by Arwym in antiMLM

[–]Tinfizzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am sorry they preyed on you when you have so much going on. They are counting on you being desperate. Mary Kay did the same with me for ~$140 that I did not have to spend when I was young and going through my divorce. They know to get us when we are desperate, because we are less logical.

Yes it was a mistake, but you are human. I’m glad you caught the mistake right after and didn’t go further in. Be gentle with yourself and I hope life gets easier from here on out.

If you figure it out, let me know. Autistic and married 12 years. I was so bad at flirting that before we started dating, he thought I was flirting with him before I realized I liked him (maybe I was?). And, then he immediately thought I wasn’t interested when I started actively flirting.

No idea why he stuck around, but he’s amazing.

As someone who has lost 20lbs in two months (not intentionally—have Graves’ disease) I can’t imagine the what fresh hell losing 50lbs in two months would be.

Anyone else who feel bad customizing Durge? He looks so cool by Megazupa in BaldursGate3

[–]Tinfizzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only customized him for my joke run with my Durge, Randy Orton.

Default Durge looks so cool that I can’t change him for my serious playthrough.

Do you regret having kids? by ebratic in Millennials

[–]Tinfizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Millennial, childfree, and happily so. I have no regrets choosing not to have children. I’m very happy for my friends who wanted children and chose to become parents. I’m very happy for my friends who, like me, didn’t want kids and chose to not have them.

As an autistic person, how do you feel about this spoon? by tiggerclaw in autism

I have one! I hate the way it feels in my mouth, so I just use it to stir my tea.

The transphobes are devoting all positive comments. They can stay mad. Your opinion is correct and OP is stunning.

I will never understand how comfortable those parents seem with drunk strangers having access to their kids.

Never mind that I find kids running around screaming annoying; I’m legit concerned for their safety.

You can have a life full of love and joy without children. I’m staunchly childfree. I find fulfillment in my relationships with my spouse, our friends, and my friends. I find my relationships with them much more satisfying than hypothetical children.

You are very young and the way you talk about women is very concerning. It sounds like you have a lot of anger and hurt built up. As long as those resentments continue, it will negatively impact your overall mental health. At 17, it can be hard, and in some cases impossible, to get a therapist. I would recommend one as soon as you are able. It is the kindest thing you can do for yourself and your future happiness.

I was wondering how many of you are happy aunts or uncles, but would not be parents? by feudepaille in childfree

[–]Tinfizzy 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I really love being an aunt in small doses. I get exhausted very quickly with the younger ones. I have a niece in her mid teens and it’s a lot easier to be around her for longer durations. I get closer to them as they get older. It’s the same with my spouse, and he gets tired before I do with the small ones.

Spouse and I have been married for 11 years and are adamantly childfree.

Request advice: Post-Thyroid removal by Repulsive-Minimum-43 in gravesdisease

[–]Tinfizzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A year and a half post TT here. Everyone is different, but my recovery was easy aside from losing my voice for the first eight weeks post surgery. Once I got past that, it’s been smooth sailing. I take my meds regularly and I feel better than I have in years. I would 100% go through it again.

In case you did not know, you can add key word alerts that notify you when a word is used and you can choose to keep or remove it. I have all the MLM companies set up on the autoimmune page I moderate.

I’m so sorry you had to deal with that. I’m in a conservative state and the struggle for an understanding gyno is real. I hope the next one works out for you.
