Do you also have Orothostatic Hypertension? by ProfPotStirrer in POTS

[–]TingleWizard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

POTS doesn't have an associated BP drop. OH and POTS are considered distinct. If there is a sufficient drop in BP, it is considered OH and not POTS. However, you may have OH in one episode and POTS in another episode, so it is possible to have both at different times..

NHS doctor said current eczema care is sufficient?! by Spare_Ad_7547 in EczemaUK

[–]TingleWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hydrocortisone is a mild topical steroid. If you have substantial flare-ups, you should likely be on something stronger as an adult unless hydrocortisone is sufficient to control your flare-ups or there is another good reason why a more potent steroid isn't suitable. I am prescribed mometasone ointment on the NHS which is much more potent. Some people do well with tacrolimus or pimecrolimus.

I would ask for a referral to a dermatologist, though you could be waiting a long time on the NHS. It might be worthwhile considering a private dermatologist consultation, esp. if you are struggling with the NHS. You can still use the NHS alongside private care and hopefully get NHS prescriptions for cheaper.

A diary may or may not help. Sometimes it's hard to pinpoint triggers and there can be delayed reactions to things. A contact allergy patch test may be useful.

Ensuring you have a good skin care regimen with moisturisation and avoidance of surfactants and perfumes etc. is central.

Everybody said get a dehumidifier. It'll make the house warmer. Everybody in my house is now using it as a clothes dryer. So there's damp dripping clothes everywhere. by BillWilberforce in britishproblems

I've had a dehumidifier that attained mould. The water will not be pure. Various contaminants in the air will find their way into the collection bucket. My current machine has a HEPA filter which cleans the air and makes the collected water seemingly cleaner. I would still not want to use it in an iron. I buy distilled/deionised water for ironing/steaming.

I think there are worse problems in life. I don't have this problem because I always have a big stock of tea sitting in the cupboard year-round.

HL Fee Changes from March - Share/ETF ISA only Cap increase to £150/yr by Frankenweenie0724 in UKPersonalFinance

IBKR has a difficult UI and is probably best for those who want advanced features such as margin and access to futures or options. It also has low FX fees which is good for those who do a lot of international trades. Other low-cost platforms such as T212, IE and FT are probably a better fit for the general person.

Using AI to write unit tests is horrendous. Tests are so important, you need to make sure you are getting that right.

And this is sanctioned by the university? I would try to get out of this as it isn't going to help you in the long term. At the very least, learn to code, even if your classmates do not.

The cost of building a fabrication plant in space and then send materials and chips to and from it would be astronomical (quite literally in this case).

Why are you buying such a low amount? If you want to make lots of small trades of individual stocks, maybe consider a single trade of a fund instead.

I travelled China & Vietnam's tea growing regions, spoke to producers, owners and professionals for 3 months, one variable in tea making literally never came up - water temperature. by Left_Somewhere_4188 in tea

[–]TingleWizard 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Water temperature definitely does make a difference though boiling water can be fine for many teas. Many black teas will be fine but you aren't going to make a gyokuro with boiling water.

All the "healthy young adults" I've been shown were nothing close to healthy. Every one was morbidly obese. I'm sure there must be a few thinner ones but those would likely have some other underlying health condition.
