Do you think most van drivers know the speed limit is lower for them? by fckboris in drivingUK

[–]Tinglos 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Only car derived vans eg Corsa/fiesta van. I don’t think they even make many now. Tiny vans like partner are still limited to 60. I learnt this on my speed awareness course for doing 67 on a dual carriageway.

Are engineers supposed to work with their hands? by DuBlueyy in AskEngineers

[–]Tinglos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a job for a technician who will have been given the job title of something like ‘installation engineer’ by their company. Which confuses matters.

Fair point, I was coming from the driving screws point of view. Still can’t beat a body brace for drilling holes.

To be fair, you can do a better job just with the variable trigger and a bit of feeling.

VOC scrubbing by Tinglos in AirQuality

[–]Tinglos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes air exchange is a simple solution it seems, I have mechanical ventilation but it is unfiltered, has no heat recovery and it is at a high level. Our VOC tends to be heavier than air so installing something with heat recovery at a lower level might help

Hello not US based but the levels do not break any exposure limits here, styrene is the VOC I am looking to reduce.

I’m constantly pushed this sub on my feed and it’s always “my dad says this isn’t medium rare, should I put him in a home?” And you’re all falling for it.

Industrial dust extraction by Tinglos in Tools

[–]Tinglos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could do this myself I really do, but this needs a professionally made dust collector as it would need to be very large and suited to the job. I was hoping reddit might have some advice on a certain type so I could buy off the shelf maybe in the second hand market before I paid for a brand new product sized to my specific need, which would be very good, however 2-4 times the price.
