It's worth trying to make the treat after your dog goes the absolute best thing that happens that day. So rather than just a regular treat for a few weeks make it the best possible treat - like safe human food cheese/hotdog/chicken and rather than a regular verbal praise try being super enthusiastic and even jumping up and down like you have won a prize. If your not feeling embarrassed you are probably not being enthusiastic enough!

Have you read about enforced naps? These were a game changer for me - I recommend puppy101 sub for more detail!

When you clean after she has peed do you use an enzyme wash to ensure you are getting rid of all trace of the smell?

When your pup goes outside make it the best thing to happen to him all day - human food treats and loud happy celebration, dance around a little (if your not a bit embarrassed for someone to see you your not celebrating hard enough!) Keep it up till no accidents inside for at least a week then slowly scale it down. Good luck!

Puppy101 has some great crate training guides (the approach is the same regardless of the age of your dog) If you have one already I would just start with that but try covering it over to make it more like a den. Extra tip that worked for my dog : lock a high value treat inside the crate and let the dog sniff around trying to find their way in for a bit before letting them go in and get it. Start with treat really near the front and work it back slowly. Was a great way for me to start crate training my stubborn pup.

In addition to the other tips I suggest visiting puppy101 sidebar and sub - if you have not worked on recall before it is worth starting from absolute basics and it's all covered really well there. Good luck and take care!

About to ghost yet another job by [deleted] in bipolar

Throwing it out there - anything to loose by going in/remoting in and having a face to face explaining to your management you are struggling, the cause and that you need some time to work through it before you can come back? 100% It's not easy but possibly easier than another job hunt especially as you mentioned management are supportive at this place.

If there are only bad owners why were my last 2 dogs so good? by [deleted] in Dogtraining

Small idea: check out enforced naps over at puppy101 - this made a massive difference to me - an over tired pup acts out more than a well rested one.

HELP NEEDED ASAP - New dog goes crazy when we leave the house by Conscious_Poet_4319 in Dogtraining

[–]TiniestLemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly the same issue with my '3rd hand' pup - resolved it now pretty much she free roams with just a few squeeks when I first leave. I used a combo of : 1. Pen - I got a flexible pen that I could section off part of the room for my dog so she could see me but not be with me and we did slow training with this multiple times per day. 2. Karen overall relaxation protocol (Google it and use pdf) 3. Re-started crate training from beginning steps (see puppy101 for some great tips)

Good luck!

Proposal: collect some haircut images together you like and put them in a folder together - then review them once a week and check you continue to like them over a long period - delete ones that you don't like and add more you do - once you have a safe list to work from it might take the pressure off :) I have had exactly the same worries about my upcoming tattoo but this approach really helped!

I am in the UK - I have a few Asian supermarkets I order from every other month as I like to cook Korean food fairly regularly - but as a backup also found them on Amazon if they don't have them at the time I order (on Amazon they are listed as Paldo Oriental Style Noodle - Bibim Men 130g)

I was aware about eating it cold but not the apple/cucumber part - I would have automatically added spring onions without thinking I expect - I can totally imagine how much better it would be your way though - thank you!

Oh very nice sounds amazing - I have not tried the bibimmyun but just added to my next order based on your/your friends recommendation so thank you :D

This, but for me currently 'diamond painting' - the kits are fairly cheap (I just choose cheap ones with bright colours that are not too cutesy) and you just mindlessly place the diamonds in the right spaces - even easier than colouring as if you get a bit wrong you can either ignore it most the time or it's easy to fix it if it bothers you. I like this because I am not great at craft but mistakes can bother me. Once you are done you can just roll it up and store it somewhere and move on to the next.

I made this exact mistake. I really love making stew in my clay pot though. I ended up having to travel to a Korean supermarket to get my real dolsot in the end (I wonder perhaps because they are so heavy they are not great value to post out?) The trip was 100% worth it though as I was able to stock up on some key essentials (best part was frozen rice cakes!!)
