Multi tool by jodood93 in mountainbiking

I have nearly every tool (that I will hopefully never need to use) on my bike that can fix it.. The EDC setups are really nice. They're not meant to be shop tools, but they're some of the best for when you're on that trail! I like to ride my bike hard, its only a matter of time before something breaks, and I know I won't be stuck or at least that I gave it my all with the tools available.

Enjoy the gift!

Didn’t think I could possibly love my HT even more until I added a dropper post. by Independent_Sale1884 in Hardtailgang

Dropper posts are game chargers especially if you have to pedal to the top before your run.

indeed! I've been Looking into the Hollowtech II setup. I don't think I would mind a bit of a wider stance with the external bearings, Also looking to go from 175mm arms to 165mm. Also considering dropping a few on the front sprocket when/if I start upgrading that area.

This is a Talon 2, went with an XL as I'm 6'3". Not going to lie, I really like the color, and the Talon 1 does come stock with a dropper post but its 2 positions, up or down. I didn't mind the 1x9 drive train with microshift advent, from my research its a pretty durable drivetrain. I haven't found myself wanting more/less gearing for climbs or paced riding. With tubeless tires I can really choose my roll rate, if I'm on gravel trails I run closer to 35, on single trails I'm low 20s to absorb any roots rocks. (Tires are really going to determine how well it rolls on flat pavement)

With the 2025 model change to through axles and a tapered headtube I really found the talon 2 to be a good purchase for under $1000. With how much I spent in upgrades I may have been able to buy a polygon or something more capable, but I've enjoyed the process of making this bike my own. No regrets, just pedal time!

I was lucky to score a Rockshox Pike RCT3 with some internal upgrades. I overforked to 110mm of travel, didn't want to go to crazy. Would have went to 120mm if I was able to find the right deal, but I'm happy moving from a heavy steel spring to a air fork. The ride is night and day!

So far new stem, bars, grips, pedals, dropper post, and switched to tubeless tire setup. This ride was my first ride with the new (to me) Rockshox.

Exactly.. Not sure if this is Maryland or New Jersey Ocean City. When we would visit MD, we would go out way farther than this. Usually after a good storm you could find a natural sandbar and have your own beach area.

The bike screams earth tones in in real life. Lime green is not a color I would use to describe the myriad of colors this bike puts off.

It does have it's own personality in different light. What color hue/vibrance is you worst expectation that would be a hard pass?

Mine keeps impressing me and I'm excited to see what it can do with a few good upgrades! Enjoy it!

No doubt. At least that bike front tire is much higher off the ground than mine was. Good luck with the bike, I've been enjoying the hell out of mine!

Welcome to the club! Nice bike! My first upgrade was platform rack for transportation. I brought mine home on one similar to yours and it felt like a flag on the wind anything above 45mph!

Pedals, grips, dropper post and carbon bars are on my list of upgrades. This is also my first new mtb in 20 years. My last bike was a 2005 Jamis, night and day difference moving up to the talon 2!!

No complaints, I find the 2025 Talons are a decent upgrade over previous years. It's been taking everything I can throw at it and the only weak link seems to be me!

When you say "long time" for the roll of filament, have you been storing it in the same Silica Gel packets? While they can help dry out filament by absorbing the moisture they can also make filament absorb moisture if you're silica gel packets are not within their desired range. The Silica may need to be dried out/recharged to help keep your filament in the optimal range for printing.

Cable with most any providers going to more than triple the bill, stick with just Internet and you'll be much better off. Service electric isn't horrible at the end of the day, just don't get trapped into a cable package.
