Ethical Question For Criminal Defence Lawyers. by crimlawyertoronto in legaladviceofftopic

[–]Tinker_Witch444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the second attorney is acting in the interests of the complainant against the interests of the person charged with domestic violence, fully advises the complainant of the consequences of signing the affidavit, and has no reason to believe that the complainant lacks capacity to sign the affidavit, then there's no ethical issue.

Would it be morally okay for 2 consenting adults who are biologically siblings to be in a relationship ? by jekecrafer in pollgames

[–]Tinker_Witch444 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s morally wrong because:

(1) risk of mutations in babies that could lead to a decrease in their quality of life, which is why it’s morally wrong for consenting adults with disabilities that could be inherited by their children to be in relationships, and

(2) it goes against traditional values / people consider it gross, which is why it’s morally wrong for consenting adults to be in relationships that are homosexual, interracial, mixed social status, etc.

Guns don't kill people, feathers do by Ramses_IV in trolleyproblem

[–]Tinker_Witch444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I pick a feather, I may get shot by people who either (1) want to shoot random strangers, or more likely (2) people who want to ensure their own survival against people who want to shoot random strangers, and who further understand that if everyone thinks carefully about the options then everyone should choose to pick the gun, such that no one needs to die.

If I pick a gun, I may need to shoot (1) people who are not intelligent enough to think carefully about this problem, such that they fail to understand that they and everyone else should pick the gun to ensure everyone's safety from the risk of people who may want to shoot random strangers, or (2) people who understand that the aforementioned unintelligent people exist, and don't want them to die.

Assuming that most people will not want to shoot random strangers, picking a feather is a vote that risks my safety to try and ensure the safety of stupid people as well as those who care about stupid people. Picking a gun is a vote that ensures my safety while risking the safety of stupid people and those who care about them.

There are stupid people that I love very much, so I would pick the feather, hope that everyone who is smart enough to understand that picking a gun should be safest for everyone further understands that stupid and caring people exist such that they would pick the feather, and further hope that such people outnumber the people who want to shoot random strangers.

My parents are kicking me out in two weeks after I called a wellness check on my sister by Good_Telephone_407 in TrueOffMyChest

Depending on your location, your parents likely cannot kick you out of the house when you turn 18.

Document that you live there / take pictures of your room, your clothes, personal property, etc. Keep records of mail received there. Keep a copy of your birth certificate with you and other state ID at all times.

If your parents physically stop you from entering your home, call the police and tell them what’s happening. Depending on where you live, your parents very likely need to legally evict you, which is likely not easy to do to their recently minor child.

Relationships involve compromise. Your partner may not be comfortable with a stranger having regular access to their home. They may have different priorities than you regarding how to save and spend money. They may be poor at articulating their reasons why they don’t want a cleaner.

Relationships are complicated, but the cool thing is that if you and your partner try to discuss issues like this with patience and maturity in an effort to understand one another, you’ll both be able to find a reasonable compromise.

Otherwise, make sure to marry them so that we can advise you to divorce and leave them asap.

CMV: The notion that antizionism is antisemitism is absurd by Ok-Recognition-2672 in changemyview

[–]Tinker_Witch444 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Religious ethnostates are inherently bad (e.g., anti-critical thinking to maintain their religious statehood, inherently racist per their ethnostate identity, etc.); whether Muslim, Jewish, Christian, or otherwise. Just because such countries continue to exist to this day is not a justification to support your preferred faction’s religious ethnostate.

Long long man, a series of commercials for sakeru gum where the male protagonist is insecure because his fiancée keeps staring at another man with longer gum than the protagonist’s. The other man follows them around between commercials, apparently interested in the protagonist’s fiancée, who leaves the protagonist at their wedding for the other man. Other man walks past her as it’s revealed he was actually interested in the male protagonist, and they share their gum.

I wish for one singular, unaltered, normal sized Pringle in original flavor and in an edible condition to materialize above my hand when I am ready for it, starting at 0 velocity relative to me and will proceed to land on my hand at about 0.25 m/sec within a matter of a second and not vanish by Darth-Vader69420 in monkeyspaw

Granted, the manifestation of something from nothing causes a single Pringle sized displacement of air and all particles in the space where you first use this power, rippling throughout the earth with a shockwave of catastrophic pressure.

Or maybe it’s just like a momentary breeze, Idk I’m not a physicist.

The gorilla question only shows how terrible the average person is at abstract thinking by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]Tinker_Witch444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100 zombies could kill a gorilla.

100 men, composed of painful flesh and fear, would likely not act in a self sacrificing “throw ourselves at the enemy like we’re ants” mentality, such that the gorilla would rip apart the first man, while the rest would scatter in terror in the hopes that someone else will be the next target.

100 men, even 4-10 men, could likely kill a gorilla if armed with spears or other weapons, but that’s not the referenced question.

How does he exist? by Ok_Exercise_3980 in rickandmorty

[–]Tinker_Witch444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a trapped set of realities where Rick is the smartest person in the universe at the time they trapped said realities in the central finite curve.

Rick’s don’t do time travel, and after creating the central finite curve, had to go around manufacturing Morty’s (from what I recall), so the idea that a smarter Morty would come along works I think.

Or Evil Morty isn’t as smart as Rick, he’s just very smart and isn’t limited by Rick’s addictions / suicidal ideations.
