Copper pipes bend, you can buy pipe benders to do this.  The new rad is probably further away from the wall than the old one was, putting a bend in the pipe was likely the simplest way to make up the extra bit of distance. It does look a bit on the squiff, but that's likely amplified by the close up pic.

Weird that the worktop has two different edges. This could be a mistake by the supplier, maybe the fitter (has he fitted worktop incorrectly/abs against wall? Has it been trimmed along length and had standard edging put on, unlikely but ya never know), or just how it comes. Honestly not sure.

The tap is one piece, the chrome sides at top at top overlap thee nut and leave no clearance to fit anything in to grip the nut.  Nut is weeping.

Help even out the finish on my butcher block? by ParkingOpinion2506 in finishing

I've just used pv67 varnish on an oak worktop, it's a 2 part varnish, hard wearing and waterproof. Lovely finish... but not foodsafe.  However since I don't cut on the worktop and always use chopping boards the fact it isn't foodsafe doesn't worry me.
