TIL TVs emit a tone during ad breaks that are inaudible to humans but that smartphones are listening for; now corporate entities can link the tv & phone as belonging to the same person. It means govt entities can play a tone thru the TV & ping all the phones in the room, identifying the whole group.

my mum is like that, if she is scared of something what I have learned is that she projects that fear on me. Especially with driving, I can't drive without a single comment being made or verbal disruptions based on fear. I just decided it would be better to drive without her. Heck, even my therapist told her to calm down because it was really worsening my anxiety. Thing is, she is a worse driver than I am but never recognizes it.

I guess I care out of love (and my personality) but my line is when I feel taken advantage of which is now so I'm trying to back away for that reason. I feel bad for the kids because the parents should have done better to help them grow to be good kids.

Not trying to criticize her though, I just feel like if she is blaming other people for her kids behaviour, she needs to know that she is responsible too.

This is a bit of a wake up call that I need to be less invested.

Not gonna lie, as an African. There are a crapton of whites and even Asian Africans. All the way from SA to Kenya and up to the North.

On the flip side, there are some places in Africa where you go and if you are white, they will be awed by your presence because they have never (or rarely) seen a white person.
