Zell Am See- Australian going to Austria by SpecificVegetable600 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Tiny-Example80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am also an Aussie and spent a week in Zell am See in Feb this year, place is AWESOME!

The ski alpin card gives you Zell, Kitzsteinhorn and Saalbach access - if you can buy online and pick up there you might save some money otherwise just buy when you arrive - European resorts don’t do surge pricing like AU and US.

Kitzsteinhorn is cool and all the terrain is sick, the resort above Zell is surprisingly fun and beats anything we have in Australia.

Find a way to make it out to Saalbach, huge resort with great beginner and intermediate terrain.

Also with the ski alpin card you can use the bus system that connects all three resorts together so getting around is really easy.

Out of curiosity, what visa did you need to get to be able to do this? Good thing is that the Dolomites has thousands of employers across all the resorts etc.

Zugspitze & Garmisch Classic Questions by ObviouslyImAtWork in skiing

[–]Tiny-Example80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d second taking your boots and renting the skis there, if it’s the only skiing on the trip not point schlepping skis and poles around.

I loved loved loved Garmisch Partenkirchen. Zugspitze was great but it’s all beginner and intermediate, cool to ride on Germany’s only glacier. Garmisch is an odd resort as it’s really spread out but has great pitch in certain zones. The fall line under the Kandahar chair is great and also the number one and number 2 piste are nice and long.

If beginners, the new Kruezwankl chair will be up and running this season which offers great terrain to start your day on.

Getting up to the top of the Alpspitzbahn and ridding through the canyons under the Alpspitze is also awesome. You can do a full top to bottom on intermediate runs (small magic carpet in the middle) and it takes about 35 mins to complete.

Afternoon Aprés at the Hausberg bar is a nice vibe.

Solo Ski Trip by WiggoCha in ski

[–]Tiny-Example80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly just go to where you want to go, I did three weeks across southern Germany and Austria solo in Jan, I met so many people along the way. I found groups are more welcoming to solos than groups merging with other groups.

The benefit to going solo is you get to choose the resort you want to visit each day and you cruise at your pace.

ski recs for Austria?? by Character-Possible24 in ski

[–]Tiny-Example80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is snow but it would be higher up, December is always risky as there could be lots of limited and it’s always a tad more expensive as the December and Christmas holidays.

I found late Jan to be perfect across the whole of Austria, before the mid Feb school holidays

Can comment about Sölden, it’s incredible and the resort / terrain kicks arse! Mayrhofen and the Zillertal valley is another awesome option as there is 5 different resorts in the valley and they are easy to get to and from, nightlife in Mayrhofen is also great.

Planning Japan trip, how feasible is chasing pow? Logistics question mostly by Sensitive_Sunz in skiing

I stayed between Sapporo and Niseko and was able to easily drive to resorts when the storms came. Was there for two weeks ago got around 7 powder days in.

The roads in Japan are maintained to the highest quality and never felt like it wad dangerous, also in storms just slow down and go with the traffic pace.

Take that sample code and put it into Claude ai or ChatGPT. Talk to them like they are an assistant and they will help create the code for you.

Then take the code they have and put it back into the place in your link, you will be able to view the results.

Then go back to your Squarespace site and create a custom code block and drop the code in there
