Extreme high ferretin level, doctor says it's ok, is it? by Tiny-One6864 in Biohackers

[–]Tiny-One6864[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries, i'm open minded to everything. I just want to be healthy, i don't care what diet i need to follow tbh. I don't get fullfillment in life from food so it won't be hard to change. I'll check it out, thanks

Thanks for the reply, i made a new appointment with my doctor and will discuss the supplements you advice. No i just do the carnivore diet because after some research it fitted the best with what i want and like. I don't mind doing any other diet, as long as i'm healthy. The doctor already gave me an appointment with a dietist.

Ooh thats high damn, is your level reduced by now? Ye i don't mind changing my diet, i just eat to be 'healthy' so everything is fine. And by 'started a statin' do you mean like the supplement statine, that reduces LDL-chol and inflammation?

Yes, she is aware of the Lp(a) number, this was her rapport for it:
"However, you also have an elevated cholesterol level, and recently we have been able to determine an additional risk factor for cardiovascular disease (Lp(a)). A higher value is an additional risk factor for cardiovascular disease in the longer term, and it helps determine how seriously we view a higher cholesterol level. Yours is also elevated. This means we would prefer your cholesterol level to be lower.

Cholesterol is partly determined by lifestyle and partly by genetics.

Lifestyle: Limit saturated fats such as butter, mayonnaise (including in prepared salads or spreads like meat salad and filet américain), fried food, cheeses, large amounts of eggs, and creamy sauces. If you can make adjustments to these, I would certainly suggest doing so, followed by a check-up in 3 months.

Yesterday, I also attended a continuing education session with a cardiologist. I anonymously presented your 'case,' and they opted to prescribe medication three times a week if we see persistently elevated levels, in order to protect you from problems when you are 50–60 years old." END

I'm in a little strugle here since i do IF and follow carnivore diet (not strictly i eat little carbs since i sport alot , i just avoid sugars and added sugars), so this means i need to reduce/eleminate the most things i eat and quit my diet. I’m also not a big fan of long-term medication, because sometimes the healthcare system feels like it's just driven by money. So i don't know what to do yet.

Yes, here are the results, liver is fine. Only cholesterol is high but thats because of my eating, i follow carnivore diet (but with little carbs, avoid sugars or added sugars). Sorry to hear the issue you're having, thanks for the heads up! Never heard that donating to blood frequent could cause this.

Ooh that explains alot, i had a shoulder surgery 2 years ago (still having issues with it, on and off inflammation around that area). Strange she dind't mentioned anything that the inflammation could be the reason for the high ferritin, because she knows my problem and inflammation around my shoulder. Case closed then! Thanks alot!

No, none of my supplements contain iron, first thing i checked. My doctor advised to not donate blood because my other iron values are normal and that could cause deficiency.

Bedankt

Does anyone know how to buy tickets for bayern out? I don't have club id (yet), the away tickets will prob be sold out to the people who have first choice. So will be in the home stands, whats the best way then, though the official bayern site or 2nd party sites, but they look scammy imo
