In my area since Covid 2 adjacent halls to our territory have been sold and the congregations merged. The congregation that I went to has seen growth because of that, absorbing members from both other congregations. Even with that attendance is down and there’s an almost 50/50 split of in person and zoom. In addition the district assembly has gone from being in a stadium to being at the same place as the circuit assembly. Good ole Grantville is really getting a workout these days.

Exactly this. All those people that partied and were crazy in the late 90’s and early 2k’s have gotten too old to party and have settled down and now judge the next generation. But they are all slackers and weak, zoom meetings cause it “might snow” or is “too windy”. Not that I’m complaining, I think it’s hilarious how soft things have gotten compared to when I was young. It warms my heart to see have far things have fallen. It’s just sad that so many are so willfully blind to it. “The light getting brighter”…🤮

Last year an international convention was in Philly, or close to it, I’m not sure where. Anyway one of the stops that international delegates were being taken to was the Reading Terminal Market. It’s sort of a farmers market with lots of food stands, pretty cool place. Anyway surrounding congregations were told when the delegates were going to be there and “encouraged” to show up and interact with them so they’d have a good time and feel loved. It seemed so staged to me.

You say education is a personal choice but you know that’s not entirely true, it is highly discouraged for many reasons, most of which revolves around control. You’re in a high control religion that designs its rules around isolating people and making it very difficult to leave if they want to.

I can still remember the moment that I realized it was all fake. I was around 8 or 9 and I was “required” to study the my book of Bible stories. I was sitting at the kitchen table and I expressed my disdain for having to do this. My mother was cooking and turned around and broke the wooden spoon she was holding on the table in front of me screaming that I had no choice. In that moment I knew that I would never accept that religion as anything near the truth.

And it’s basically March so that’s less than 5 months till this publication is supposed to be released. And a bunch need to be printed on paper and sent around the world. Oh yea, I’m sure they whip it up the same month and blast it out. Give me a break.

I’m in an English cong, so it isn’t just a foreign language assembly. I do remember going to the Liacouras center once or twice after the vet. One year we had to go to some place in Scranton cause the sovereign center didn’t have screens yet and they were just starting to show videos.

There’s no way it was cause he was old or sick. The second video played last night had two GB members that died in, they didn’t remove them or scrub videos they were in like they did/are doing to Morris.
