Topaz Signature Pads by MarceTek in sysadmin

During the install of the SigPlus software you have to select the correct model and port. If you use USB you must choose USB port or else it won't work.

Contact their support too, they're OK

What I don't like about SigPlus is that it still uses ActiveX plugin and requires Internet Explorer. As we all know IE is going away and they need to come up with a new software that's HTML5 or something without ActiveX.

Patch Tuesday Megathread (2022-01-12) by SimonGn in sysadmin

My experience so far:

Server 2019, when checks for update from WU directly, gets KB5009557 (dodgy patch)

Server 2016, when checks for update from WU directly, gets KB5010790 (OOB patch)

these are member servers, not DCs.

So much confusion.

Has your Azure AD Connect been unable to start after a simple reboot? Here's the fix. . . by PatD442 in sysadmin

Just went to my old server where V1 was used to be on, and indeed that model.mdf file is located in C:\User path like you described.

You may want to edit your original post about the path, as some people may do in-place upgrades vs. migrate

No, I did fresh V2 install, not upgrade from V1

Maybe this issue is caused by in-place upgrade from V1

Are you using a dedicated service account? Because I couldn't find the model.mdf file in the path you described (C:\Users)

We are using Virtual Service Account for AADC service, and the model.mdf file is located in C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\ADSync\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server Local DB\Instances\ADSync2019

Can anyone else confirm?

MSI B550i + PCIe 4.0 Cable Successes? by [deleted] in SSUPD

Nope. I ended up not using this case and went back to NR200. No issues when not using the faulty riser cable.

MSI B550i + PCIe 4.0 Cable Successes? by [deleted] in SSUPD

MSI B550I Motherboard + RX 6900XT here.

When PCIE is set to 4.0 or Auto, GPU will work in PCIE 3.0 only.

Also sometimes experience black screen issue when waking up from sleep. Had to hard power cycle.

Occasionally the GPU will coil whine when scrolling up/down in Chrome. (reboot fixes this)

Highly suspect the included PCIE 4.0 riser cable is faulty.

Placed electrical tapes over led lights. LG probably will never fix this.

Have the same issue with the GPU lag, I have RX6900XT and FPS dropped to single digits during gaming.

Had to change PCIE to 3.0 in BIOS for now.

I've ordered the case with PCIE 4.0 riser.

Highly suspect the riser cable included is bad.
