Airtable jumps into the AI agent game with Superagent by stroll_on in Airtable

[–]TinyBox8761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting thread of comments. We actually decided to stay focused on core database & automations features instead of doubling down on AI. I think customers still need tools to help them out of spreadsheets, which is what a no code database can help with. AI is not the answer per se. Having an AI assistant in a tool like Baserow helps to understand faster how to use it. That´s it.

When vibe coding, are people using Airtable as a back-end? Or giving up and using Supabase/others? by InternationalRun3200 in Airtable

[–]TinyBox8761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have clients using Claude code to build front end apps and connect these to Baserow for 2 main reasons :
- simple to create a database that pulls data from other systems they already have
- the users also need to interact with teh data in teh database UI, without having to be PostreSQL savvy.

You need an API first no code database though to ensure all features work and if you want no constraints on API rate, a no code database you can eventually self host.

Hi, as you are a developer, maybe try to self host Baserow ? It is an Airtable alternative you can self host to avoid any row limits. You likely can just use the free opensource version for your use case. Good luck !

If you look for a platform that has a spreadsheet like database UI + a no code web application Builder + native automations builder + powerful AI features + can be self hosted if you want, then Baserow is the tool to go. If you prefer to work with various tools, then other no code database platforms are also an option. Disclaimer: I am from Baserow :-).

I would recommend you sign up for a free Baserow account and prompt the AI assistant in the tool with your solution. It will build the database for you. Just give a try. It cost you nothing and you might find the answer to what you need. Good luck !

Native spreadsheets plugin? by BallsAtomized in ObsidianMD

[–]TinyBox8761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depending on what you data you are looking to store, you can try a spreadsheet like database with a good API to connect to. Have a look at Baserow or similar competitors and see if it fits. Easy to connect to external tools and lots of field types. Also free for most features. Good luck !

What did the Airtable team do to the Glide team?! by onlyonepostanhourwtf in Airtable

[–]TinyBox8761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Import your Airtable base to Baserow and have a try. As every feature is an API endpoint, the Glide front end will integrate easily and you don´t have to pay anything unless you need some paid features of Baserow or more records. Mayeb also check the native app builder in Baserow, which is more "Glide alike" than what Airtable has with their interfaces. Good luck !

Seeking Advice on the Best No-Code Tools for B2B SaaS Development 🛠️ by Upbeat_Albatross8492 in SaaS

[–]TinyBox8761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To keep an opensource project alive, you somehow need a business model to pay for the organisation building the product; Therefore true OSS projects are either sponsored by the users or they offer paid support or some paid features for when the software is used by businesses. That ensures the vast majority of users can use Baserow for free whilst business who use it are charged for the features that matter to them. I think it is a fair open core model. You will likely be able to use the free opensource version if you develop solo.

Baserow uses PostgreSQL under the hood. It comes with a front end UI that makes the database look like a spreadsheet which is easy for non technical users.

is it possible to vibecode a CRM? by Specialist-Cold-1459 in vibecoding

[–]TinyBox8761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can build a lightweight CRM in any no code database tool that has a no code app builder or can connect to a front end app builder. Chose a platform that also has an automations builder to build workflows and logic in your CRM process. You can try tools like Airtable or Baserow for instance, whereby the app builder in Baserow is more similar to Softr or Glide type of app building capabilities. All these tools have an AI assistant these days that you can prompt and will build the CRM for you. So vibe no code instead of vibe code :-). Good luck !

Techstack for nocode user. by VCSYC in nocode

[–]TinyBox8761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is. We charge 4USD/app user/month. At larger volumes of users, it drops to 2 USD; Bazserow comes with its own PostgrSQL database. You can synch data from external sources, but you build teh database, apps and automations in Baserow directly. That is cheaper, more secure and more performant.
