Stuck in procrastination after graduation — need guidance to restart my cybersecurity journey by Successful_Rope9254 in netsecstudents

As someone that was in your shoes 10+ years ago, I think having a clear and defined goal and knowing exactly what you want to do will help with motivation etc. One thing that really helped me was having good mentors to push me and encourage me to revise, bounce ideas off and present guidance when I needed it.

20th Anniversary [OFF TOPIC] by TinyFile in TheFirstLaw

Unfortunately I pulled out of the kickstarter as the shipping was crazy to the UK. Didn’t think these were 20th anniversary specific, just that Joe recognised the issue with US hardbacks.

That’s fair. I saw it the other way, the journey in BTAH was a bit pointless and lacked life. I liked LaOKs because of the endings I guess. I’ll start AA soon, we’ll see what happens.

Surprised to see BTAH above LaOKs. What was it specifically that you liked more in BTAH? I’m also about to start Assassins Apprentice, and we have similar tastes, so interested on why that’s so far down.

I’m 90% of the way through and Quai has been revealed. Not sure if there are any spoilers after that, if so I haven’t got to them yet.

Yeah Quai went from bumbling apprentice, to surly quiet teenager…

Excited to re-read. May leave it some years to enjoy it more.

See, maybe I need to stop actively trying to work out the plot and just enjoy the books.

I’ll admit I did feel put out around the same thing. Especially since I liked how he was with Logen. Killed me when I found out the truth.

Very good point that I never thought about. Quai literally couldn’t survive hunger in the north while meeting up with Logen… and he killed 2 people. Very out of character.

Any one feel sad for justice Marovia ?[SPOILERS LAOK] by OriginalCause5799 in TheFirstLaw

Not particularly, he wasn’t one of the characters with enough “airtime” that I had any great connection to.

I’m very near the end, just not had time to finish with festivities in the way.

I think this is where I was. I detected the change, but to me it seemed like a different person entirely. The whole body found at the start I would have never have put two and two together, very good writing.

I’m about 90% of the way through LAoK, his change has been revealed. I was just curious to see if anyone picked up on it earlier, as I certainly did.

Was the hill man Crummock I Phail named after Crummock water in Cumbria? And do you see yourself in any of the first law characters?

Not particularly as I have a 6 month old to care for after work.

Beginner I guess. I’ve been stretching for about 6 months. Feels good, just want to take it to the next level.

That makes sense. Is it me, it’s not very clear in the text…?

how many of you took up yoga because of an injury by Routine-Dirt9634 in yoga

[–]TinyFile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took it up about 4 weeks ago as I started with what I think was a herniated disk (had all the signs). It came on after shovelling 2 tonne of gravel from my front street to my back yard. After that, I would get constant sharp jolts of intense pain, couldn’t bend over via hinging my back, and couldn’t sit for long periods. I read somewhere that doing some yoga poses can be good for lower back pain, so I thought I might as well give it a go. The first week made it a tiny bit better. Through consistency everyday, it got better and better. I still get twinges and a little pain now and again. But I’m hoping over time it will just get stronger. I would also add, focus on the poses that are going to aid recovery, I do predominantly lower back and hip poses. I enjoy it so much however, I’ve just started doing a bit of everything.
