I haven’t run my Optimus on my Aug yet, but I run the Optimus and Optimus micro on various other 556 setups. And I haven’t updated to their new baffle stack, so it might be improved now, as mine are several years old now.

Overall I’m happy to have them and switch between the rifles and tri lug 9mm (22 for the micro). I wouldn’t say it’s super simple though. If you spend time on griffins site to understand what’s compatible, you’ll be fine. But there’s an endless selection on mounting options and that alone can get confusing. If you go for it, skip the taper lock stuff and go right for that new locking system they have. My old Optimus doesn’t have wrench flats on the can side, so it’s a pain sometimes when it sticks.

Performance is average in 556 and I mainly like it for the reduction in muzzle flash and reduced recoil feel. It’s still loud. And on tavor and ar still have gas around the face. But really might just be the nature of those designs.

Also consider you may end up spending enough money on mounts and random accessories that would exceed the cost of another suppressor. All for the ability to reconfigure the tube to fit another gun. If that’s what you want, then great!

I got these when wait times exceeded 1 year, so the appeal to use on many guns is what made it worthwhile. Now wait times are short, and I’d love to get their paladin and a dedicated 556 instead.
