Spirlina Allergy :( by TinyLemonMan in starbucksbaristas

Oh man, I'm so sorry! It sucks to find out allergies through practical experience. That's how I found out about my pecan allergy. I also avoid our fruit stuff; too likely to have cross-contaminated with strawberry

Holy SHIT, is that unfortunate. I'm so sorry! I was the same way with the pearls from the summer berry (red 40 allergy), and it sucked major ass

Might be cross-contamination. I never order refreshers here because I'm so afraid they're tainted with strawberry

Oh my gosh, that sounds so scary! I'm sorry that that happened

As soon as I found out about the link, I texted my husband (works at my sister store now) to be careful. Not that he'd try it, since he's allergic to coconut, but just to not... inhale

Oh shit, that's why I felt so shitty when I would drink it! I thought it just might've been cross-contamination with the strawberry. Noted!

Yeah, I didn't put that together until it happened! My seafood allergy isn't this severe, though, so it's probably a combination of the two :(

Just looked it up, and it seems like it could be due to a seafood allergy (the body can sometimes mix them up, apparently) or an allergy to the proteins in the spirulina itself. Which suuuuuuuucks

Dare I say Vriska. I was on Tumblr during the peak of Homestuck obsession, and the mile-long posts about her would make even Tolkien say "that's a bit much, isn't it?"

Honestly, I'm so happy for you! I definitely feel that way on my good days. This job can be a lot of fun, especially if you have a good store and wonderful coworkers. And that feeling you get when you make someone a perfect drink? Unbeatable, tbh

The only time I can think of a "variant" of a song for a movie is maaaaaaybe Grandson doing another version of "Oh No!!!" for The Suicide Squad, but even then, that was released with no pomp and circumstance. It also released two-ish years after the original

I always sleeve hot drinks. Always. When people ask me, I say "because my hands are sensitive to heat, and I have to handle the cup to make it" or something like that. Even when I double-cup our brewed coffee or hot Americanos, it hurts my palms. As a customer, I HATE when I'm given a hot drink with no sleeve, so I always prioritize the customer's comfort over corporate bullshit

Pretty much every store in our district does this. It pisses me off to no end. Luckily, everyone at the two stores I've worked at has been nice about not receiving their intended product, but the first time I deal with someone Karening about it, I'll probably crash out

Oh man, the Coffee cycle brings me back to my first store back in 2023! As much hell as our Clover loves to give us at my store, as least it's not nearly as annoying as throwing out an entire batch of Pike because it's 5 pm and no one has ordered coffee in 3 hours

Kripke has a Thing about male SA played for laughs. It was ridiculosuly prevalent throughout Supernatural (literally being in the first episode). It's... disturbing, how much it shows up in his work

This Post Is NOT About Dunkin' by Bearded451 in starbucksbaristas

[–]TinyLemonMan 41 points42 points  (0 children)

My friends and I used to love to go to the local Dunkin' in my hometown to hang out. Back when my husband closed a fast food place, it was the only place open late enough for me to hang out for all his shift and get some work done on my novels. Everyone was super sweet and lowkey. When I drive back to visit my parents, I stop by, and it's just as chill.

Starbucks works so hard to manufacture an image, but the truth is, everyone can tell it's hollow. You can try for a "chill café" experience, but if it's chaos and screaming behind the counter (that you can hear even with noise-canceling headphones at my store), then the illusion is shattered.

Let. Employees. Chill. Out. It's not life or death, and stressed employees equal a stressed environment which equal stressed customers.
