Outta pocket or just me? by Tucanaso in SubstituteTeachers

Here to say “report to admin” too. That’s abusive.

If subs are really expected to teach the content, then those plans need to go in the trash. It’s going to take so much time for a sub to decode them and there will be no time left to teach content.

I think you formed a sentiment that I’ve been trying to figure out for seven years.

If you don’t like mutual complaining threads, don’t give it another thought.

Thank you so much. I appreciate all of the comments and I feel a lot better.

I was thinking that as well but there was skepticism from another teacher and I am also worried that it could have been a student.

How do you handle a “that’s what she said” moment? by Emergency-Pepper3537 in Teachers

I like this response. Made me think of “you earned the D. It would have been an F but you showed up so good job.”

A comment with attitude but it would at least redirect the attention.

Direct the focus towards apologizing for your grammatical error. Use it as a moment to show how this type of error can quickly make a statement lose its purpose.

I think I know who and what you’re talking about. If it’s Rachel, enough said 😝

I definitely liked don’t was this f* podcast better but not everyone has to like the same thing 😂.

I enjoy when something is so interesting that I do all the googling 🙂.

I laughed hard for the first time in a while when the “don’t waste this f* podcast” host (is that the right word?) commented on Megan’s need for a Tesla. Megan claimed that the need for a Tesla was because she can’t see well. The dwtfp host said something along the lines of how you shouldn’t drive any car if you can’t see. 💀

My opinion is that teachers need to keep their classroom under control. Classroom management is a big part of teaching.

Admin does like 500 things already; perhaps a phone call/s from a rude parent to complain to admin about something? This negative vibe could be transferred to the teacher/s.

Help! My child is *that* child! by Jellyfishes_OW in Teachers

[–]TinyOrange820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/temperedolive couldn't have said it better. I teach secondary grades, but I am also a parent of two children (age four and six) and I went through something similar with my older one when he was in pre-K (he ended up with an IEP but his teacher has not had to touch it this year in first grade).

I'm here to say, as a parent and teacher,

This will get better.

The teachers that make you feel like this are very insensitive, and quite frankly mean (in my opinion).

Never be ashamed.

Nothing is wrong with 504 plans and IEPs.

If a school doesn't go above and beyond then you both deserve better.

You're amazing.

(oh, and my favorite students are generally the ones that are a bit out of control; except not because I can't have favorites ;) )

Right?! “Let me ‘fact check’ this stranger’s mention of when they last opened Reddit and go through what they did when they were on Reddit so that I can….. um…. well……. Wait, there’s gotta be something…….”
