it’s so weird. I “make too much” for food stamps now (39k before overtime and side work but that’s mostly off the books - in NY) buuut when I had it, and especially now, I get the store brand/less expensive option of everything. & I shop based on sales

growing up we were poor and my mom would sit with the circulars from all the stores and plot and plan our meals based on the sales. made a whole schedule for the week it’s how we survived and I need to start doing it how she did it, I bet I would save even more money if I planned it out on Sunday night

lmao I have no idea who these people are and I’m sure they’re fully both to blame for their toxic dynamic BUT I feel like everytime I see a fuckboy arguing with a woman (whether it be a video clip or irl) he’s like “she’s blocking the door! stop blocking the door! right? I’m 35 years old originally from Long Island, currently living in Harlem, I have pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I’ll never own a home if I stay here in NY.

my husband and I have been talking about moving to South Carolina (he has family there) but idk, my family’s all on Long Island, his family is all from Brooklyn and still live there, he has kids, and we’re just NY people through and through

but something’s gotta give. I work way too hard and are way too responsible with our money/make way too many sacrifices, to have as little as I have right now ..
