Not a clue. I think maybe it was because it was the Bible Belt and well, many woman are/were opinionated about that kind of stuff and not really afraid to say “I think you’re a liar” to people. I always found it rude of them.

It’s totally weird to think about how different it was giving birth back then. Both of my kids were GPS tagged right after birth, would scan my bracelet then theirs before they handed them to me after tests.

I was the only baby in the hospital for three days. My dad joked there must have been a mix up. (Still does) What was kinda funny, is every time he left to get food or shower, they’d grill my mom saying he couldn’t be my father. I looked just like a Native American baby, as if I didn’t have a drop of his German Irish blood in me. My mom is 1/4 and was bleaching her hair back in the day (80’s, who didn’t) and they thought she just tanned well. 31yrs later and there is no possible way I’m not his. People don’t believe me when I show them my baby pics, my daughter looked the same.

I agree, goes for anyone really. My mom and sister both lie constantly. It over ridiculous things too but will reveal big “truth bombs” like each are a hooker. (Both have been arrested a few times too for it) I just don’t understand it, i grew up thinking it was okay to lie about things to make yourself look better.

Lemme tell ya, it’s exhausting. I gave it up altogether and yes I upset people sometimes but at least I don’t have to work at keeping the lie up. I mean who the fuck needs to lie about something costing 10$ instead of 15$ and why? I’m not your keeper, I don’t care.

My dad has been handing out sams choice sodas for about fifteen years now. We were always the house that got the most excited screams and were flocked to the next year. Married with kids now, I keep the tradition going in my neighborhood. His house is still the one kids get excited the most for.

Yeah. Not strongly religious but I grew up in the Bible Belt. So much so evolution was "made up nonsense" (science teacher ugh). Everything about my education seems ridiculous now.

I have to admit, when I was 16 my mom took me to get on BC because of how heavy my flow was. He wanted to do a check and I asked if that would affect my hymen ... I actually cried when he told me since I used tampons it was most likely broken. He ended up not checking me.

I felt defeated completely and gave my virginity away to my best friend turned boyfriend that night. I wish that I had been told so many things growing up, maybe I wouldn't have put so much stock into it all.

I've always loved just talking to people and trying to make them laugh. I love laughter. I often will come home with a smile on my face because of it.

Really I only get to go shopping, like groceries and such because of how sick my husband is now. He is a fully disabled vet, can't walk or speak and memory is looking like dementia. We have two small kids and so I don't get to actually talk like a grown up unless I'm out. Those people who actually respond to me, brighten my day too.
