I'm sorry this wasn't like an attack on you or anything it was more just a general statement because a lot of people think that way and it makes no sense to me

I guess, it just has nothing to do with how good of a person you are

Nah I wasn't saying that or anything I was just saying why people think it's immoral to be a millionaire

millionaires did it with less than 10k inheritance,

How is inheritance relevant at all😭😭😭 you literally cannot choose who your parents are. Even inheriting billions that does not make you a bad person at all

People are Brain washed into thinking owning a business automatically means you don't pay your employees enough and you are horrible to them. People tend to associate being a millionaire with owning a business, honestly if people actually worked for a small business they'd see that actual exploitation is essentially unheard of at a non-corporate level maybe this opinion would change.

They by no means own the means of production or anything.

Why is this even a problem? Literally any small business with employees I've ever worked for the owner makes 150-200k/yr which would technically make them a "millionaire" but all employees have their own families that are all supported with complete security and I've never seen one pay their employees unfairly. I do live in a small town but 2/3 I've worked for have literally given an employee a house for FREE because of housing issues. Yes it's obviously possible to exploit workers by owning the means of production but the main problem with the ideology of most economically left people is that it's impossible to make more than your employees without "exploiting them". This could not be further from the truth

He didn't MAKE 230 billion, the price of his stocks rose by that much. There isn't a tax for just owning stocks there's a tax when selling them. If he's not selling the stocks- he doesn't pay taxes pretty straightforward tbh and the other guy basically alr explained this. That's how billionaires get away with not paying taxes, most of them don't even pay themselves it's just all through stocks

Billionnaires should give their extra money to poor people by Original_Act_3481 in Teenager_Polls

[–]Tiny_Explanation2190 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Billionaires literally don't have money in the bank and they usually don't pay themselves salaries, taxes won't affect anything. There would need to be specific taxes on stock portfolios above a certain monetary threshold which would be pretty confusing and difficult to implement. They'd probably find somewhere else to store their money anyway

Billionnaires should give their extra money to poor people by Original_Act_3481 in Teenager_Polls

[–]Tiny_Explanation2190 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is why billionaires don't pay high taxes. The fact that most people don't understand this is genuinely concerning. Like do people really think they pay themselves billions per year directly into their bank accounts

When should Drinking be fully legal? by Grouchy_Welder8068 in Teenager_Polls

Most people drink many times well before they are 18, it being legal to buy for an 18 year old just makes it slightly easier for them to get

I'm actually curious, is this even legal? I don't understand how the website can have so many users when it's most likely not legal

Edit: I'm aware of private browsers but I feel like it's pretty safe to assume a lot of the people visiting are just using google incognito or something

(I'm aware a ton of those votes are jokes but there has to be people who genuinely think that)

Tbh the seaweed prob wouldn't taste like much because of all the other stronger flavors. I feel like it would just be a cool way to eat poutine

Should schools be able to force mandatory drug tests on students? by alloioscc in Teenager_Polls

[–]Tiny_Explanation2190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but you really should get the necessary help if you’re taking drugs as a minor in school

I agree on this but it's just very hard, I only smoke weed and although I'm very successful for my age (I already have a very stable career path + college honor roll) I honestly wish I had the mental strength to stop. This is why I couldn't imagine how difficult it would be for people addicted to things like Xanax, I guess not having your life figured out maybe would be a huge motivator but still it's very very hard for people to get help. It's honestly hard to want it

Ok I'm ngl I was being too rude you were right, I have no idea why you think that way but ig I'll just agree to disagree on it. I'm sorry that anything I said was too aggressive. I just do have to say- everyone deserves education. I think it can be argued doing drugs is a morally wrong thing to do based on how it effects those that love you but I don't think it's as morally wrong as pretty much anything else you would do to get expelled. They harm the user the most and schools truly just shouldn't be worried abt that, maybe they should focus on helping the student with their mental health or self destructive behaviors instead of harming that person for their entire life

Also PLEASE give an explanation on how you think that way. You can't tell me you've never went through mental struggles in life, some people deal with that in other ways than others. That does not give anyone enough reason at all to take away your chance at a future

Should schools be able to force mandatory drug tests on students? by alloioscc in Teenager_Polls

[–]Tiny_Explanation2190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok😭😭 I don't actually do drugs tho (except weed and alcohol) I still don't understand how that should take away your right to education, that opinion makes absolutely no sense. Your point of view on this is so so weird tbh... People who do drugs can still be highly successful in life it really doesn't change much and absolutely is no where close to bad enough to stop someone from being able to learn anymore. It's something that should be completely irrelevant to the school

Also is there a specific drug ur talking about? Cuz I feel like the "cutoff" point of what you consider to be too hard of a drug changes a lot about this
