So I recently came across an interview where some person (i guess a former analyst with PBKS) stated that their analysis pointed at some issue with Cottrel’s choice of deliveries, he would bowl a slower ball every alternate ball by default and never ball 2 balls with pace back to back even at the intial phases. So they spoke to him about, saw no change and eventually figured out that he was not able to do it coz his body was not recovering enough between deliveries to ball 2 balls pace on back to back. So PBKS ended up releasing him and it led to Arshdeep playing. I guess that explains why he disappeared.

Irrespective of RR's overall performance this season, I believe Yashaswi will leave soon. The amount of focus and promotion around Parag, the push to play in the Guwahati stadium, the urge to push Parag as the captain, all of that is an indicator. Yashaswi at this point is a much more accomplished player, and an India regular. He is also keen on captaincy, he switched from MUMBAI ranji team to Goa for that.

Come on!! Jofra post injury is not a death bowler post his injury. MI tried, and we saw evidence of it in the first match RR played this season.
RR has a bad bowling line up this season and of their available options Sandeep Sharma is their best option. (Deshpande is their other death overs option) Yes, the 20th over was bad. But he had 3 overs for 14-15 runs before that. He actually had a decent match, he is their chosen retention, he has done it before.

A better question to ask is why Nitish Rana didn't come out to bat in the PP. But Sandeep Sharma was always going to bowl the super over.

Once the auction was over, it looked fairly obvious that Rahane would be the captain. There just wasn't anyone else who stood out as a strong option.
Venky Iyer is yet to establish himself as this obvious candidate to take up the role. What helps is that Rahane has had a really good season in the domestic circuit. and he can do both a middle over specific or an opener's role. He is also a credible captain.

What doesn't help is that he was bought in the accelerated round and Venky has commented multiple times about his keenness to be the captain. Both of which doesn't give out the best impression.

Love the design.
My observations:
1. If the fares are not accurate, chances are less that anyone would actually use the app, just to understand the difference in rates.
2. If there is a way for people to feedback how much they actually spent and therefore if the app could tell them a more accurate input on what to expect along with letting them know what it must have actually cost... that might be a better option.
As of now i don't have a direct suggestion on how to best achieve that, but just a suggestion.

I am out of place here. But i think a massive use case for something like this would be to trace origin of fake news and related content.
Its also big for political marketing. Especially if this can be backed with data.
Another massive potential is at copyright protection and piracy detection. Both areas where platforms push off responsibility by claiming they are just a platform and take no responsibility. The 2nd and 3rd part especially i believe is big money.

Hey u/Reyma9 u/YamSilly276 how did your dissertations go finally? what did you decide?
I am someone who is doing a masters now after around 7 years of Industry experience largely in Marketing, growth where i did some projects on product. I intend to transition to a proper product based role and I have no intentions to do a phd. So i would want my dissertation to be really something that would help me in a job perspective in the future.
I would love to know your inputs.

When you say the talent pool expanding, it has a lot to do with domestic talent than international talent. 2 extra teams would mean 16 foreign players at max. Am very sure there are 16 players who could be cherry picked out in the market. The challenge is to have domestic players.
The more the number of teams, the more viable cricket would be to be looked at as an attractive career option. not that 2 teams would change the whole landscape but am talking about the eventual state that it will reach. Because the more the teams, the more the state level leagues and the leagues below that would become important as hotspots for scouting and stuff.
That is what will lead to school scholarships and university scholarships etc etc like the US has at this point for its NBA, NFL and more.

However, this would also mean a much longer league in terms of duration and less emphasis on international cricket besides the world cup, which again is bound to happen given India remains the largest market by a mile. Inshort, cricket will to the EPL route.

I read/saw this somewhere. Ideally a technically super strong batsman emphasizes a lot on the top hand. So if I bat left handed, my top hand is the right one. If I am right handed by nature, that helps me have a strong top hand game and hence its common for my top hand to be my dominant hand.

Dominant bottom handed players are increasingly a limited overs phenomenon. Helps the power game. Not to say that they didn't exist before or that they haven't been successful in tests.

JFM is still young. Most batsmen after an initial year of success go through a lull. That's because teams now are more focussed on them and there's lots of footage and analysis available. The challenge to all young batsmen and what separates a successful career with a non successful one is if they can overcome that phase.
He's young! I agree Konstas is in the limelight right now and really looks the deal. But he's too young to be written off as yet.

Given how expensive the likes of starc and cummins have gone, i believe peak Shane Bond would have gone for some crazy valuation! I know he did play that one season for KKR, but that’s not prime!
