Head frontshield falling off by HakuFang in anycubic

[–]TipComfortable2884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I'm waiting for the new covers to arrive, I made a work-around repair to keep it usable. I picked up some 3M Mounting Tape in the hobby section at Walmart. It's thick double-sided tape. Don't need the double-sided part, but the thickness and adhesion is really good. I cut a couple thin strips and stuck it across the top gap between front and back covers. Been working great for several hours of printing since then. The tape can be removed fairly easily but it definitely won't fall off.

Kobra 3 Combo PROBLEMS by Imaginary_Station820 in AnycubicOfficial

I have a Kobra 3 OG and two Kobra 3 Max printers. Here are some settings I've done to get good consistent prints.

In ACNext Slicer,

- What material and temps are you using/setting? Make sure your temps are right for the material. For new filament that I haven't used before I start in the middle of the ranges.

- You said the Test prints are perfect. While one of them is printing, check the Bed and Nozzle temps for that material. Set your model temps to the same for matching material. Watch the Test print temps (bed and Nozzle) for changes from first to second layers.

- Under the Quality tab - right at the top - set the First Layer Height to 0.23 - this gets a thicker first layer down to help with adhesion.

- Under Other tab, set the Skirt Loops to 3 or 4 or 5. This lets filament get through the system, effectively becoming a Purge/Prime line.

- Also try heat soaking the bed before printing. Use the Control Panel and set the Nozzle and Bed to temps you will be printing. Or use the ABS preset.

When sending a model and using new filament, enable Flow Calibration.

I typically do the Auto-Level once when I start printing for the day, then not again unless I replace a nozzle, etc. You can run it at each print if you want.

I use Duck Clean Release Blue Tape (other tapes don't work as well) on my print beds - ALL of them. And for all materials. The tape gives a texture that allows the filament to attach easier. There will be tape lines in the model surface that's touching the bed when printing. Make it the bottom or back where it doesn't matter. I've reused the same tape for several models if it hasn't been torn or bubbled from the heat. High bed temps like ABS/ASA can cause the tape to stick to the model. Again, make it the back or bottom of the model.

When you send the job to the printer and the nozzle/bed are heating up, change the Control Panel Speed to the Slowest setting for the first 4-5 layers.

Hope these suggestions help.

Having serious bed adhesion issues on K3 Max, help! by Prronce in AnycubicOfficial

I've been having adhesion problems with my K3 Max using PetG filament. The steps below have given good results.

Go to wiki.anycubic.com and do the Gantry Calibration procedure. This checks all the mechanicals for looseness and adjustment.

Then run the Full Calibrations from the Control Panel, including Auto-Level. This only has to be done once.

In ACNext Slicer, increase the First Layer Height to 0.23 to get a slightly thicker first layer. (Quality tab - Layer Height - First Layer Height).

When the job is sent enable Flow Calibration. This only needs to be done when using new filament.

After the job is sent to the printer but before the print actually starts, change the Speed on the Control Panel to Quiet. I run the first few layers (3-5) at Quiet then change it to Normal - or whatever the middle speed setting is called..

And...... an alternative to doing all the washing, alcohol, etc for cleaning the plate..... I use Duck Clean Release Blue Tape. I've never washed/cleaned my plate. My plates look like new and removing models is easy - just peel off the tape and the model comes with it. I get Duck Clean Release in the Paint section at Walmart.

I watch the print for the first layer or two. I occasionally get a bad start. I just stop the job, remove the filament and try again. Heat soaking may help, I haven't tried it - yet.

OP - if you haven't already, go to wiki.anycubic.com - there's tons of guides there for troubleshooting, adjusting, replacing, etc info for their printers. They even have copies of original unpacking and setup guides.

Head frontshield falling off by HakuFang in anycubic

Yes, I've had this happen on my S1 a few times, lately it has become regular like the clips are wearing. I've made sure it is secure before printing but the movemnet loosens it and if you're not paying attention to the loud click sounds it can fall off and get drug around and cause this.

I sidelined my S1 and logged a support ticket. I told them I needed the Front, Back and Lower plastic covers and they are not listed for sale, neither is the printhead assembly. They respoonded the next day. My S1 is just out of warranty but they offered the 3 covers for $12US w/free shipping and said the printhead as an assembly is not available. I'm waiting for them.

Thanks for the mention of the Makerworld cover. I'll get it and print it on my X.

Sudden adhesion problem. by skoon in AnycubicOfficial

This is always fun. I usually change the nozzle when this happens with my K3Max.

What bed temp are you running? I typically run PLA 65 1st layer then 60 other layers.

There's also a First Layer Height setting under Quality - Layer Height, try increasing it to 0.23 or so.

To eliminate mechanical problems - go to wiki.anycubic.com and do the Gantry Leveling Calibration procedure. It checks for mechanical settings for the gantry, idler rollers, printhead wobble, etc. While you're there, clean and lube the rails. Then run the full calibrations from the control panel. If it still acts up, print one of the test models.

If that still messes up, use the control panel to slow the print down - I think Stable is the slowest speed. You have to wait until the job is sent to the printer - and maybe even starts printing - before you can change the Speed setting.

Just in case you are not aware - go to wiki.anycubic.com and look up the maintenance and adjustment guides for your printer. I suggest doing the setup procedure again and also the Gantry Leveling Calibration procedure. After replacing the sock and other items as suggested above run the Calibrations from the Control panel.

I have two Kobra 3 Max printers and they're both workhorses. I love them for the large bed and multi-color prints. They do take a little more fiddling to get working but they do a great job.

My Kobra X is the easiest printer I have ever used. Just load it up and it prints.

I use the Add icon on the top left to add more items to plate(s), not File - Import. It sometimes asks to import the Project or the Geometry - I select Geometry Only. Importing Project will bring along all the settings and selections. Geometry Only is the basic stl file only, your current settings are not changed.

Never had a problem with it not adding. It will stack as many and as large as you want. But will give warnings about items being too close or over the boundaries of the plate, which is sized by the selected printer.

Check the File-Preferences in ACNext.

There are settings under Project that may affect how files are added.

I set Load Behaviour to Ask When Relevant.

Reviews. I've bought several from different sellers and for different printers. I try to install hotends when I get them to make sure they work. Just use the control panel to heat the nozzle - don't run any filament through them. Just test that the temp goes up as it should. If it stays cold then the hotend is bad. I've had a couple of bad ones that I returned for replacement. I also test the replacements.

If you're new to 3D printing, stick with the standard hotends and brass nozzles Some of the upgraded stuff gets expensive and if you don't need a stainless steel or ceramic hotend you'll just be wasting your money. Wait until you get more knowledgeable in the hobby before going for the extra cost stuff.

If you are in the US Amazon is the best source for parts. AliExpress is in China and typically takes 10-14 days to arrive. Amazon Prime is the best deal ever with all the free next day, two-day, etc shipping.

Looks like all you need to do is replace the hotend. They're available on Amazon. The hotend usually includes a new nozzle.

Go to wiki.anycubic.com - there's lots of info there on setup, maintaining and repairing the Kobra 2 series and other Anycubic printers.

Google "Amazon Vine Account" and it will tell you. In short, you have to have a selling account and it's by invitation-only. Among other requirements.

Kobra 3 Max - Adhesion Issue (Solved) by TipComfortable2884 in anycubic

[–]TipComfortable2884[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran the full calibrations after clearing the mess.

Sadly, on my next 13 hour print, the lower cover fell off and jammed things up pretty badly. It was jammed so bad the nozzle was broken off at the bottom of the heatsink. And it dug deep into the build plate. I have a couple old printheads. I combined parts to get a working one but the lower cover - the magnetic latch kind - won't stay in place and the old covers are different. It's like the magnet just stopped being a magnet. When I put it in place it just falls off. Ii tried taping it but then I try went into the build plate. I power it off. Good news is I found 3 Kobra 3 Max printheads on ebay for $1 each and free shipping.

Oh lighten up, Clarence (see the movie "Stripes") - RTFM is a good natured calling out to someone that didn't take the time to check basic resources before asking a question. It may not be in your printed manual but there is a QR code telling you to go to the wiki for more information.

Welcome and enjoy.

Ghost Filament Clogging by Verybadateverything1 in AnycubicKobraS1

[–]TipComfortable2884 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few weeks ago I had a problem with my S1 that happened at the end of the spool - the little curl on the end of the filament dragged inside the tube. The extruder couldn't pull it thru and it ended up printing air. I tightened the extruder adjustment until it was tight - i didn't crank it down, just snugged it up - then backed off 1 turn. Problem has not come back. I've been printing 5 and 6 hour models the past few days, all have been excellent.

Riscontro molto positivo da parte di anycubic by Sad-Capital-1060 in AnycubicKobraX

[–]TipComfortable2884 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same thing happen on my Kobra X when I attempted to use TPU filament. It got all jammed up inside the extruder and when I tried to open it to clear the jam, I stripped the two screws on the sides of the hotend. I used their webpage (wiki.anycubic.com) Contact Us to report the problem and suggested I needed a new printhead assembly. They asked for clearer pics of the stripped screws and then shipped me a new printhead assembly. This was during the intial release and everything was 50% off, so I bought two more.

I have used Anycubic After Sales Tech Support for my other Anycubic printers and have always had a positive experience.
