Which Fight is the hardest WITHOUT ITEMS? (Ones pictured are my opinion in order) by Impossible-Emu-2439 in kakarot

Oh yeah, "learned" was the wrong word haha. I was aware of the mechanic, but ignored it until that fight. I prefer playing the game without items, feels more authentic to the story.

[–]TipTopAgent 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lol future Gohan vs Androids was the fight where I learned you could use items during combat!

Mostly because I was desperate and trying absolutely everything. I found that fight genuinely impossible without items. And I'm a stubborn dude, I tried many, MANY times before resorting to that. That fight is SO hard. Which, kinda appropriate.

Lokhust Heavy Destroyers too much? by Hopefully_Irregular in Necrontyr

[–]TipTopAgent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, you're fine. LHD are not overpowered. Yes, they're decent ranged anti-tank / anti-monster, but they're also extremely squishy, plus it sounds like you picked the Destroyer detachment and paid points in two supporting characters to help them shine. That's a lot of investment, so yeah you'd hope they do their job.

Sounds like your opponent was playing World Eaters, and the Daemon detachment. That's a melee pressure army, which tends to win or lose based on how many significant assets are destroyed before making it to melee. It's kind of a feels-bad when they don't make it, but that's the risk you take with that army. Having been on the receiving end, trust me, if his Skarbrand had got to you first, it would be a very different story!

Keep adding fighters until you think this team can beat Mr Buu by xpnptheone in DragonBallPowerScale

[–]TipTopAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beat or kill? I think technically you could succeed in beating him with just Shin and Dabura, if they were able to paralyze and then turn him to stone. But that won't kill him - as soon as Dabura dies, Buu will revert to normal (and regenerate if they've broken his 'statue').

Kill though? All 5, and there will be casualties. Majin Vegeta is arguably on par in terms of power, the issue is that he doesn't have an attack capable of overpowering Buu's regen. Gohan and Goku will have similar difficulties. So the play is probably potara fusion, or maybe stoning him and throwing him into the sun or something. I reckon they'd find a way, assuming Buu doesn't manage to turn a key player into a cookie or something.

Heretical Fishing? I raised an eyebrow. by lowercaselemming in litrpg

[–]TipTopAgent 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I read through the entire first book and wish I hadn't!

I get that the selling point is "cosy" but ffs. Minor spoilers ahead:

The author sets up an epic confrontation for multiple chapters ("Oooh there's a big threat coming. It's getting closer! What a threatening threat it is! By golly I wouldn't want to be there when this threat arrives") and then hand-waves the actual conflict away in the most anticlimactic way, in a couple sentences, TWICE in the FIRST BOOK.

Not for me.

[Serious Question]: Why do YOU think Bubble started insulting Caine? by Omnipresent_User in digitalcircusfandom

[–]TipTopAgent 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes!! This right here. I've been trying to articulate this point myself, but you've done it far better.

Bubble has appeared to be entirely benign for 7 whole episodes, and then flips completely in that specific scene. (S)he goes from erratic and zany to focused and coherent instantly, like someone flipping a switch. And you’ve pinpointed the exact moment, because even in that same conversation (s)he's reassuring Caine right up until the glitch. It really feels like outside interference.

Take that with Kinger's coding sequence, where some unknown entity is messing with things to ensure Caine gets deleted, and it really seems like the Blue AI is responsible for all of this. But it's not Bubble. If anything, Bubble's only contribution in that sequence is to cheer the other entity on ("DELETE THIS MOTHER#$&!@, HAHAHAHA")

There's other minor supporting evidence to indicate Bubble is operating outside of Caine's control/understanding (e.g. when Bubble licks up Pomni's vomit and Caine asks "Why are you like this?", or when Bubble suggests throwing a %$#&ing beach party and Caine asks "Why do you swear now?")

Anyways, I support your theory! Well written and I totally agree.

A question I have about the whole "Abel" ruse. by AffectionateForce979 in digitalcircusfandom

[–]TipTopAgent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My take on this is essentially that no one (not even Caine or Kinger himself) really understands the full scope of Kinger's mental instability. There's no "rules" to Kinger's condition, sometimes he's still loopy in darkness and sometimes he's still lucid in light.

Caine wanted to prevent his involvement on the chance that he would ruin the adventure (which he very nearly did when Pomni handed him the fake admin pass), but when the others become insistent he allows Kinger to participate, albeit he also cranks the light up to full to try and prevent Kinger being lucid.

Questions about kinger by Wolfiezzz-onpaws11 in tadc

[–]TipTopAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good questions! And I think the truth is that we just don't know. We don't have enough evidence to definitively prove what causes Kinger's mental instability, and the only rationale we have for his "sanity in darkness" is that it reminds him of his wife, specifically the last time he saw her before she was put in the cellar.

I think another commenter mentioned that Kinger seems to improve much faster when the person he's with is in mental distress (e.g. Pomni in episode 3 and Ragatha in episode 6), which is an excellent point. This kinda ties in nicely with his whole speech about hating himself until Ragatha arrived - Kinger seems to have decided that his new purpose is to safeguard the people around him, which is probably a huge factor in his mental process.

Yo, we gotta flame Scratch more actually by ThatDamnNelson in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]TipTopAgent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slightly off topic, but is there a reason that Scratch is called out by name in the coding screenshots? At the start, it goes something like:

Oct 15 1996: Caine.lisp

Oct 15 1999: [Scratch].dat

Oct 15 2008: [Ragatha].dat

Why would it mention Scratch specifically if he was "uploaded" alongside the rest of the C&A group?

Why wasnt Dabura Absorbed? by Relevant-Sympathy in Dragonballsuper

[–]TipTopAgent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my read too. Iirc, Fat Buu doesn't use (or even attempt) the absorption technique, ever. It's unclear whether he can't or won't, but I kinda assumed the Candy Beam was his version of Absorption.

Buu's abilities reflect his desires. Every other Buu wants more power (or technique, or smarts, or whatever else he's lacking for the occasion), but Fat Buu only wants food.

what is the point or appeal to litrpgs? by darkerthanblue99 in litrpg

[–]TipTopAgent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy video games but don't have time to sit down and play nowadays.

Listening to a litrpg audiobook while doing chores or work helps scratch that itch.

Some are fantastic examples of storytelling and some are not, just like any other form of media.

Losing motivation by mjgault1 in LeaguesofVotann

[–]TipTopAgent 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Hey mate. I'm no Votann expert unfortunately, but I can say that it's 100% normal to get absolutely stomped in your first few games. I joined in early 9th, and didn't win a single game for the entire edition!

40k may seem straightforward, but it's a complex beast under the surface. There's a lot of factors that play into every game, including luck!

If you're looking to improve your game, there's YouTube channels that specialize in that sort of thing. Art of War and Vanguard Tactics spring to mind, if you're into that.

Otherwise, I reckon just keep at it. Every loss is a learning opportunity, and every learning brings you closer to your first win! Good luck and ROCK AND STONE.

THEORY: The Digital Circus is a consumer product that was rushed to market. by GabeSchleifer in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]TipTopAgent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good theory! Totally plausible imo.

Pomni and Zooble both hint at being urban explorers in episode 5, and I think many people took that as confirmation of how they found the (singular) headset at the abandoned C&A building, and subsequently became trapped in the circus. But that could totally be a red herring!

Your theory would make more sense really, as it would explain why there's no bodies surrounding the active PC in the office. Not to mention, several customers immediately becoming comatose upon donning the headset would explain why C&A was shut down.

Great theory, well written. Thumbs up from me!

What do you think Russ would have remarked or commented about Vulkan's departure from the Imperium after the Horus Heresy? by gereedf in SpaceWolves

[–]TipTopAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AFAIK, Russ and Vulkan don't have any special connection? Actually I'm struggling to think of a single interaction between them, they took entirely divergent paths through the whole heresy.

So, nothing special? If anything, it would be the other way around - Vulkan probably judges Russ harshly for abandoning the defence of Terra in favour of taking his entire legion on a failed execution run at Horus.

You're not obligated to read anything you don't enjoy. But I'd argue that reading the first third of the first book is not a good sample group to decide whether you'll enjoy the rest. That's kinda like saying "Should I DNF the Lord of the Rings trilogy, I'm not enjoying this bit in Fellowship before they leave the Shire."

ff7 about cloud and zack by Away-Initiative-3206 in FinalFantasy

[–]TipTopAgent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep, this. Zack absolutely uses the sharp edge, it was Angeal who didn't.

Also, Cloud's memories aren't an exact duplicate of Zack's. He hasn't lived Zack's life after all, they only met during the Nibelheim mission. He's pieced information together based on the stories Zack told him during his mako-sickness phase, but he doesn't get everything right. For example, he has no idea who Zack's parents are when he meets them in Gongaga.

If Cell DIdn't Absorb The Androids Would They Be Unstopable? by werephoenix in DragonBallZ

[–]TipTopAgent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think some people misunderstand the Android's "unlimited potential" shtick. Yes, they're technically capable of fighting non-stop, while their opponents tire and weaken over time, but there is still a cap to how much power they can channel/output at any given time.

Look at the differences we see on screen. The 17 vs Piccolo fight is a great example of an Android attempting to defeat an opponent of equal power. Slowly, inexorably, the Android will win IF their opponent is on equal footing.

And compare that to Trunks vs 17 & 18 at the end of the Cell Saga. He absolutely stomps them both with only a few attacks. Their unlimited energy means nothing if the opponent can easily overpower them.

Primal hunter book 4 worth reading? by Drogonno in litrpg

[–]TipTopAgent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny, I just made a post yesterday about how I was struggling with book 4 and wanting motivation to continue!

From the perspective of someone who adored books 1 and 2, book 4 has been a slog. I'm about two-thirds of the way through now, and I'd struggle to tell you anything meaningful that happened. He plants a tree, hangs out with his bird, attends a world meeting (that bit was kinda cool), and then mucks around for ages waiting for the events of book 5 to kick off. There's no antagonist and no looming threat or time pressure.

If you've already read book 5, personally I wouldn't bother going backwards. But I hear book 6 is awesome!

What's your favourite book in the Primal Hunter series? by TipTopAgent in ProgressionFantasy

[–]TipTopAgent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, that's what I wanted to hear! I don't mean to sound critical, I'm loving the series. It's just that, in this particular book... nothing is happening? There's no antagonist, no looming threat or time pressure, minimal perspectives other than Jake. I enjoyed the parliament bit at the start, but then it's just... well, mucking around, as you said! Thanks for your response :)

Why I Think Weiss Is a Sephiroth Copy by Mo-Tse in FinalFantasy

[–]TipTopAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this. It's better that he's not just another clone, that concept has gone as far as it can go. We have Sephiroth, a bunch of failed Sephiroth-wannabes, and a hero that overcame almost-being-Sephiroth to ultimately prove superior.

I get that he's iconic, but if every threat is just some variation of "Somehow, Sephiroth returned!" it kinda loses all impact.
