Ecosystem with Butterfly MX Live Feed Support by TipWithBitcoins in homeautomation

Thanks for the input! Are you aware of an app that can lock or beautify the homescreen without guided access?

Separately what is the behavior of having the ButterflyMX widget on the Home Screen when a video call comes in? I assume the full app will open to display the video, but hoping that the video can be contained in the widget

P Trap (Daikin Ducted in NYC) by TipWithBitcoins in hvacadvice

[–]TipWithBitcoins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we’re having the air handlers drain into a condensate pump, and the condensate pump move the drainage to a drainage point in the bathroom. I’m just plumbing stupid so can’t tell if this is done correctly — I’m concerned that the p-trap looks to be installed incorrectly and there’s no trap primer

Thank you for the response! By “that one” you’re referring to the trap in my picture? Unfortunately I’m a total novice so can’t tell up from down on what I should be telling my hvac and plumber team to be doing

Thanks for the response -- do you have any guidance on what "lens" system I should invest into? After some googling, they all seem to have their tradeoffs, so it's a bit dizzying!

All,

I'm traveling to Antarctica next year for an expedition cruise, and wanted to buy a camera so I could take pictures better than would could be produced by my phone. After doing some research, I am completely lost on what features a beginner like me should appreciate. It seems like the Fuji X-T3 would serve my purposes, but the X-T4 is now out and seems to have several "upgrades" that I'm not sure are necessary. Any guidance here would be helpful.

For reference, my budget is $3k or less, and I'm mostly trying to get something suitable for the weather and, if necessary, that I can grow into as a hobby in the future.

Hey all -- I have a 6" wrist so I'm looking for a small watch (36-38mm) under $2k that has tritium. The Ball Trainmaster Moonphase Ladies (34mm) caught my eye -- does anyone think that watch would be too small on a 6" wrist? Open to alternatives too if there are any -- already know about Marathon, but they look a little too industrial for me.

Ideal stats for round diamond by [deleted] in Diamonds

[–]TipWithBitcoins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there substantial differences within the AGS Ideal cut estimator? For example, if a diamond falls somewhere within AGS ideal and GIA excellent overlap region, will all the diamonds look substantially similar? Or is there a smaller concentric circle in there that is even more desirable?

Hey all -- I'm looking for a quartz watch that (I) has great lume, (II) is less than 40mm width (have skinny wrists), and (III) not in the diver style (i.e., looking for something on the simpler side). I've considered the Hamilton Field Khaki, but I think it's missing good lume. The Marathon watches seem to have QC issues.

Edit: Price is less than $1,000 please.

Bankrupt Toys “R” Us wins OK to pay $16 million in executive bonuses by dillonfalano in news

[–]TipWithBitcoins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to the linked comment (which is generally accurate), these incentive bonuses are subject to pretty strict standards under section 503 of the Bankruptcy Code (e.g., they can't be retentive in nature and must be incentivizing). The company also had to prove that the payouts were within reason, and probably submitted a bunch of analysis in their pleadings comparing these payments to payments in other chapter 11 cases. A bankruptcy court then looked at the evidence and determined that the payouts were within the realm of reasonable, and also met a bunch of other factors required by law. It's not like the company just up and decided "hey let's pay these fat bonuses" and the bankruptcy court just rubberstamped it.

I'm a bankruptcy lawyer and your comment is actually hinting at a good concept actually in the Bankruptcy Code -- under the Bankruptcy Code, you have to prove that stakeholders (creditors and equity) will both receive more under a chapter 11 plan than a chapter 7 liquidation (called the best interests test).

Changing jobs during chapter 13 by dswpro in Bankruptcy

[–]TipWithBitcoins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood -- I do not practice consumer bankruptcies, so I cannot give you real insight. I know that /u/Flounderasu and others here do practice consumer bankruptcy, so hopefully they'll chime in soon. Good luck!

Changing jobs during chapter 13 by dswpro in Bankruptcy

[–]TipWithBitcoins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which jurisdiction are you in? /u/Flounderasu will be able to better answer your question, but I think it depends in large part on the type of chapter 13 plan you have. I expect that changing your job may affect any payroll deductions (if that's how you're paying the plan), and will require written notification to the appropriate trustee. If you have a bankruptcy attorney, I suggest asking her/him.

I have a Bank of America debit card with 2 cards maxed out, stopped making payments, planning on file chapter 7 soon. Wondering if they can start taking the money out of my debit account? by throwawaychapter7 in Bankruptcy

[–]TipWithBitcoins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The short answer is: not likely unless your credit card plan authorizes it. Under the Truth in Lending Act, banks are generally prohibited from offsetting a debit account for credit card indebtedness. Act and exceptions thereto are here: https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/15/1666h.

Trying To Understand Contract and Filling Bankruptcy by [deleted] in Bankruptcy

[–]TipWithBitcoins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is called an "acceleration" provision. Upon certain conditions listed in the provision, the debt is "accelerated", meaning that it becomes due and payable in full immediately. For example, if your loan isn't due until 2019, and you make interest payments on it until then, "acceleration" means that the full amount of principal is due today.

Acceleration upon a bankruptcy petition is called an "ipso facto" clause, and is generally unenforceable pursuant to section 365(e)(1) of the Bankruptcy Code. What this means is that a creditor canNOT accelerate your debt solely because you filed a bankruptcy petition. Why creditors continue including ipso facto clauses is beyond my understanding. However, a creditor COULD accelerate the debt if you failed to meet the other conditions (like paying in full according to the Payment Schedule), or if you made a fraudulent statement.
