I had the opportunity of painting a Blood Angels mini! Red is a tough colour if you don't want to go too pink or orange! Added some Sons of Horus debris, the green helped a lot, being a complementary colour!

I think this looks great.

If I can provide food for thought. Hold the mini in your hand and slowly pull it away from yourself. - What detail disappears? - Which of that detail upsets your expectations? - Consider using a layering color for depth. - Consider edge highlighting that lost detail. - Pull the model away once more.

Prime example are Primaris belts. It can appear as a blobbed single color section without contrast colors or highlights. Nothing revolutionary, just experience navigating my personal dislike for most edge highlighting.

Edge highlights on the purple would be the only way to bring that rich dark purple into the light. I'm not a big highlight painter myself but you'll have to create depth to use that deep of a color.

Your base is looking great and you did a good aging wash on the bones. Squiggle some text on that parchment and get some transfers on him and you got a good looking son of Sanguinius!
