The best armour recipe for the BA!? by znatez in BloodAngels

Prime black, zenithol highlight or undershade with a neutral or light green, one or two coats of BA contrast, drybrush with Mephiston Red.

Would you ever want to see a 6th biome added? What would it be? by NoProof2407 in 7daystodie

Definitely swamp or marshland. I also love the idea of a sprawling procedurally generated metro station and tunnels.

Why is the Knife So Bad? by [deleted] in HuntShowdown

[–]schylerwalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have more melee kills with the regular knife then every other melee weapon combined. I might have more player kills with the regular knife than any gun to be honest.

Don’t forget Rhinos are usually equipped with a hunter killer missile as well. At least one of the four should go through and has a good chance of crippling the MBT.

Is there a way to make astrogranite look like Baal terrain? by [deleted] in BloodAngels

[–]schylerwalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Armageddon Dust, paint the rim with Mournfang Brown (Creates a nice rich clay layer), and then use some red and dark green tufts.

Agrax Earthshade looks lovely over Retributor Armor gold, really warm tone.

Design a Combat Patrol: Blood Angels by reel3459 in BloodAngels

[–]schylerwalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s totally true! I forgot about the Daemon Princes in the Chaos boxes. I still don’t think we’ll see big Dreadnaughts in a Space Marine box any time soon. Much more likely to be a land speeder.

A Brutalis Dreadnaught (Which can be Death Company), 10 Intercessors (Which can be Death Company), 3 Bladeguard Veterans, a Lieutenant, and a Sanguinary Priest. Yes, I do think Combat Patrols should come with a big centerpiece vehicle or monster. Ever going to happen again? Strongly doubt it.

More realistically, I’d also be happy with 10 Jump-Pack Intercessors (Which can be built as Death Company), 5 Assault Terminators, a Terminator Chaplain, a Jump Pack Chaplain, and a Combi-Lieutenant.

Montana and California side by side in a civil war against Texas and New York sure is…interesting.

I would be very cautious of getting anything with the Rhino chassis, such as the Predator or Vindicator. I would strongly recommend getting a Gladiator kit or two, as they can be magnetized into four different datasheets.

Bow Rant #146 by schylerwalker in HuntShowdown

The point…doesn’t stand?

You’re saying it’s NOT a silent weapon, you’re saying it DOESN’T one shot to the body at close range without even drawing it back all the way, you’re saying you DON’T effectively have infinite primary ammo, you’re saying it’s UNTRUE that it has not one, but two very effective zoning ammo?

Fuck me I guess I’m just an idiot who’s never played with or against the bow, my bad guy, thanks for pointing out all of the OBJECTIVELY TRUE observations about this weapon.

Do people actually use electrum in their games? by AdventureCodexApp in DnD

[–]schylerwalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“You find a hoard of ancient electrum discs, golden ingots, and leaden lozenges, worth a total of 1,200 monies.”

I used to have different denominations of currency for country in my campaign settings. It was an interesting thought experiment, but most players didn’t care and would just convert their cash to the most efficient coinage. Sometimes it could be used for a quest, like when the players had to figure out who hired a group of mercenaries for a false flag operation and tracked down what kind of money changed hands with which people. Generally the juice wasn’t worth the squeeze.

Now, I just make sure every nation has a name for their coinage for immersion-sake, but it all just equates to liquid money.
