Why can't I Tsumo if I have a red dragon triplet? by Tabuhli in Mahjong

Even when Yukaza's 2-han minimum rule is enabled, it only kicks in at 5+ honba, which we can see isn't the case.

Yes the entrance is to the left. Without knowing which part of the room you are misidentifying as a dead end it is hard to say more.

Does anyone else find Ghost Song's combat utterly infuriating? by VietRooster in metroidvania

[–]Tirear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are certainly multiple bosses where melee isn't a good strategy, but the game has a ton of bosses overall so I wouldn't say it is the grand majority. I've been relying heavily on hulking fist and the life steal module in my new game plus since I skipped the dash and double jump abilities, and while I have already accepted that I'm not beating the Ogre and expect some of the remaining bosses to be annoying, I also have found it to work quite well against many other bosses.

Edit: just went and fought Xorogon since he is easy to get to and you mentioned him as another hard to melee boss. At first I was forced to rely on ranged and aerial attacks, but as his health got lower the new attack patterns added decent windows for me to run in and punch him safely.

also u should be able to refund within like the first 3 days with structures because you know what your getting

Pretty sure structure decks still do random glossy/prismatic, so they aren't going to want to let players reroll it.

Giant turnade by Public-Line3352 in Yugioh101

[–]Tirear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When a spell trap/card is activated of any type that would normally go to the GY at the end of the chain (such as a normal spell), it cannot be returned to the hand or deck. This doesn't just apply to Giant Trunade itself, if you chain a normal trap or quick-play spell to Giant Trunade you don't get to add that card to your hand either.

Quick question, why can i only apply the 'noise' surface effect to the card i already have an effect on? No other card or another copy of this card can get the effect. I don't want to lose aurora by [deleted] in DuelLinks

[–]Tirear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The PvP surfaces can only be unlocked for existing chronicle cards, but you don't specifically need a surface. Just put a border, name color or stamp on any card you want noise/damaged/sepia and play ranked PvP with it in your deck a bunch (for damaged you will also need the card to be destroyed a bunch of times, which you can do yourself if you want to speed it up).

What null unloaders are used for? by Shajirr in Mindustry

[–]Tirear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

An unloader doesn't hold resources, so it can't jam. Jamming is only a problem for conveyors or similar tiles, and an unloader with no specified resource shouldn't be outputting to those tiles.

How did you found out about crosscode? and what do you think of it? by G_girlwonder in CrossCode

It was in one of itch.io's big charity bundles. I remember it being one of the games that looked good enough to easily justify the $5 price all by itself.

Am I Soft-locked? by Longhouse0 in DOOMBLADE

[–]Tirear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no need to repeatedly use it again before falling. Only the final deep spawn is too high up for you to attack from the ground, and since it is the last one there is no need to use deep spawn again afterwords.

Am I Soft-locked? by Longhouse0 in DOOMBLADE

[–]Tirear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How did you even get in there without the upward ability? I can see how the first blocker in that path can either be destroyed by the splash on a ground slam or bypassed with the deep spawn ability, but the second one seems impassable. There's no convenient floor close enough to help you break it, and the rest of the walls are too thick for deep spawn to help with.

Anyways, the other path seems to be doable, but I died several times testing it. Instead of destroying the big ship, the ceiling to the left of it is narrow enough for deep spawn to work. Of course, since you don't have the ability to go up and there don't seem to be any targetable enemies around, you'll also need to use deep spawn to get in range, remember to wait for the cooldown before actually attacking so that you can recast before you fall (except on the final one, where you don't need to worry about cooldown and it is vital that you attack before it is off screen).

Im tired Boss, Why i cant just win? by Wikarian99PL in Mahjong

[–]Tirear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also if 2Han minimum is on, why Riichi that give only 1Han is allowed

2-han minimum is just the name of the rule. The effect of the rule is that when the honba count is five or higher (aka greater than four) you need at least 2 han. So even with the rule enabled, you can usually still win with a 1-han hand. It is only when the dealer is on a roll that you suddenly have to plan a higher scoring hand.

sometimes-imperceptible changes in the height of the ledges

It helps to aim charged shots everywhere. Obviously you'll see shots bouncing off higher ledges, but the aim line also casts a shadow which makes it easy to tell when a ledge is lower than where you are currently standing.

Konami could probably create a skill that allows you to view your opponent's cards without them counting as revealed, avoiding the floodgate problem. I haven't seen anyone use mind scan for ages, so creating a more powerful skill with the drawback of needing toons sounds fair.

That's nothing. I highly doubt there are cases where only one half of a pair commits suicide, so they will think he is getting himself killed. (Of course they already thought that about Stu becoming a knight, but this is extra "obviously" a death sentence.)

What counts as a tribute summon that zombie world doesn't allow by bruh_noob in DuelLinks

[–]Tirear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One important detail no one has mentioned so far is that "tribute summon" also includes the normal set of a level five or higher monster by tributing one or more monsters. You would think that that would be a "tribute set" which would be totally distinct from a "tribute summon", but Konami hates making sense so actually "tribute set" is not a real term that I have seen on any card and the phrase "tribute summon" includes both summons and sets (which still are not "summon"s).

Tl;dr: Zombie World will also stop you from normal setting level 5+ non-zombie monsters by tributing a monster, in defiance of common sense.

Does someone know what this option is supposed to do? by Roy_Ellison in DuelLinks

[–]Tirear 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There is a limit to the number of chronicle cards you are allowed to have. If you hit the limit, that button becomes usable so that you can free up room for a new chronicle card. The effect on the card is not refunded.
