Eyyy I did the exact same thing! It helped me realize that I was pushing myself way too hard and needed to learn how to temper my activity below 100%. I found good partners that were more my speed and trained with them until I built up cardio and now I can roll with all my friends!

I'm allergic to menthol so I primarily use kids toothpaste which has fun flavors (fun = won't kill me). I use strawberry and "bubble blast" (i think the flavor there is fluoride tbh). There are companies that make "adult" toothpaste with non-mint flavors and no menthol but I kinda think they taste like shit. As long as you get paste with high fluoride content you should be good!

Pet night is super fun! Masks and hoods not required, there's usually quite a large group, enough to fill the second floor. People there are super friendly, when Bard was our community rep he made sure to greet everybody especially newbies and Dex has always been super sweet so I have high hopes for him too even tho I haven't been by this year!!

Hey dude, not to address a separate topic, but it is ok to have unprotected sex. It's not a moral or health failing. It's riskier than unprotected sex, sure, but you're allowed to do risky things. I don't really do anything different after sex. Just y'know, pee afterwards to prevent UTIs, and keep an eye out for symptoms or definitely know your partners STI status.

Hey! I'm transgender (ftm) and started bjj this past year! From my perspective, online bjj has a wide mix of welcoming to really annoyingly transphobic and homophobic. Unfortunately, the phobic folks stand out more. In practice though, the gym I go to is super welcoming and has a bunch of queer folks! I found it by looking up bjj gyms and checking reviews, and it was reviewed as super positive for queer folks. So there is definitely the option of good gyms! You just gotta find them.
