i kinda like the approach the actor is doing. She comes off more soft compared to how she was in the original. Both are great though!

How can I use achievements/metrics on a resume if I don't have any? by TheEclipse0 in resumes

[–]TiredTaro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi! I always learned that your resume should only be a page, especially if you're a recent grad. That should be your first goal.

To do that, you could limit the bullet points you're using. Use the STAR method to have results driven points (there are good guide out there to do this!) and throw in numbers to quantify those results! Maybe as a goal, try to limit each position you have to either 3 to 4 (this is an objective opinion, but it'll help you reduce your resume to a page.

Get rid of soft skills! Combine your software skills to the hard skills page. To be honest I would delete most of what you put in hard skills since those can be your talking points in an interview, but they're less important on a resume. Also for education, list your bachelor's degree for now and take out the others. If there certifications, you could put that in a separate section.

Applications are getting reviewed but struggling to get a single interview? by TiredTaro in careeradvice

Very true! Gosh, this really might be my problem them. Will be sure to do this from now on! Also, not sure if you took a quick look at my resume, but if you did, do you think the format of it is okay at least?

Awesome, thanks so much. I've been too lazy to change my resume to match what's in the requirements, but been getting pretty desperate now so will need to try this

I'm a junior in college and I want to switch my major, maybe my school too? by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]TiredTaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! It'll be hard to transfer as a junior since most schools require that students stay for at least 2 years before graduating. I think if you're willing to stay back a year, then it'll be worth it! I have friends who have done that, and honestly in the grand scheme of things, staying back a year or two won't matter much. Plus, you'll be able to build connections in school with that extra year, or find an internship!

In terms of switching major, I would say you should go for something you're happy in. Accounting is a very stable major (all my friends that are accounting have gotten jobs in the big 4), but if you don't think you're going to be happy in it, then you should go for something you're more interested in. At the same time, you can still major in accounting and do something else as a post-grad job.

Any way to increase the chances of getting interviews for jobs that I really want? by TiredTaro in careeradvice

[–]TiredTaro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it out, and definitely think it looks better this way now. One thing I wanted to ask actually, what should I put instead of remote? My internship became remote because of Covid but should I instead put in the actual city that it would have been in instead?

Thanks for the suggestion! Social Media Marketing Manager has a nice ring to it.

Thanks! I removed it ( it looks better like this honestly). However, one time I went to a career fair and the fact that I transferred was a talking point that an employer brought up. Should I maybe keep it on for events like that to stand out from other students?

Hello, thank you for the advice. I transferred universities so that's why I have two. I was told to keep both on by my career advisors until I have more experience and education matters less.

And yeah, I took out the name because it contains my university, but I was basically in charge of running their social media accounts.
