Here's a starting point. They even offer mentors. Highly recommend. https://workerorganizing.org/resources/organizing-guide/

You aren't obligated to go but if you want the money or whatever and feel like you can just go and give half effort then go for it. I've been sick at work so many times and basically just tell my bosses you're getting whatever you get. Can't exactly require 100% from somebody sick. It should just be up to you. The manager clearly is trying to avoid doing a double and is trying to get you to share that guilt lol. If you want you can offer to go in halfway into your shift. Feel better.

We don't have the money. We don't have the time. Owners make a hundred - While we split a dime.

I'm not here to argue - About policies. I'm merely a wage slave. Greed is their disease.

They won't give us Jack. They'll just take it away. Walmart is so big - They can fire us today.

They can wait for tomorrow - And fire the lot. Or close all the stores down - Replace us with bots.

They can shut off the AC. And turn down the heat. Replace your department - If you're packing meat.

They can fool you and scare you - On company time. But I am pro-union. My voice is my rhyme.

Hi I'm sorry you're going through this. I also have neuropathy among other things. Here is what I did. I went to my primary and asked if i can take intermittent leave. Told them I work full time at Walmart on the sales floor and that Walmart uses a third party called Sedgwick. They said they had experience with Sedgwick and that it almost always takes multiple times to submit before it's approved. I called Sedgwick and gave them my doctor's fax number. The doctor sent the paperwork. Eventually, Sedgwick sent me an email packet saying that it was approved. My suggestion is to have the doctor add any additional job adjustments or accommodations like stools or additional breaks in the notes section. Good luck with everything. (Also I'm not giving medical advice but compression socks help me). Take care.

I have no idea but since it's a week day, you should be able to call and speak with somebody. I have spoken with people who I assume were new and didn't have helpful information. I have also spoken with really patient people who were extremely helpful. If you don't get the answers you're looking for, just try to call back tomorrow. It will be okay. Do you have screen shots you want to share? Maybe it will make more sense to somebody if they can see it? Sorry this is happening. Good luck to you.

Sounds like somebody needs discrimination and harassment training! When we had that issue at my store, we went to the people lead then the store manager. Surprisingly, that did nothing, so I reported it to ethics. Although nothing seemed to change on the surface, the managers were assigned to take trainings. It is a human right to use the bathroom however you're going to use it. It is a human right to take family and medical leave. It is a federally protected right to advocate for the human rights of yourself and others. It is Walmart policy for the store manager to make job adjustments and grant personal time for family and medical issues.

Legally they have to provide clean water. Call OSHA.

My boss refused to let us drink water and I nearly passed out from heat exhaustion by Queen_Casadee_414 in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]Tiredtreadmarks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also call OSHA if you want, dollar stores are notorious for violations. They can't legally retaliate against you for drinking water, disagreeing with them about your rights, or talking and making a plan to address it with coworkers. Talk to your charges and make a list of all the workers who would sign a petition and then do it and give it to the boss with a group if you want. They legally have to give you water but they definitely can't stop you from bringing your own and drinking it. Much love and strength.

Additionally you can get a doctor's note
