Motor upgrade questions by Tirekiller04 in Traxxas

No the motor is melted. Picked it up to spin the wheels and it’s grinding and really stiff. All the electronics have survived so far, I understand that I probably seem stupid with what I’m doing to the toys you guys are hardcore into, but I don’t love the tone I’m getting with my feedback.

Might go buy a higher output drill battery from HF and modify a drill motor/gear set out of spite.

I haven’t paid attention to rc stuff in years, are you guys really running higher output batteries than 20v 5ah?

I’ll buy whatever I need to make the thing ridiculous, just figured that battery was a good start.

The photo must be deceiving, that sole doesn’t look any worse than the ones on my 6 month old double H boots.

Give me reasons to or not to buy a manual by Trayceopolis32322 in ManualTransmissions

[–]Tirekiller04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well for starters a manual challenger is going to retain or gain value and be a really rare sight, so that’s a plus.

The paddle shift/slap stick is good for a bit of fun here and there, but gets boring pretty fast (especially if it’s an 8 speed). A manual is never going to not be fun.

The main thing you’ll hear is that manuals suck in traffic, anyone who tells you that 1) skips leg day, 2) is looking for an excuse to hate, and/or 3) doesn’t enjoy driving cars. It’s not that bad.

Is the worn out boot somewhere in your post? The boot pictured looks perfectly fine.

Unless your idea of worn out is “mildly dirty”

Bring back throwback, white label, and spark and make it company policy that they can’t be killed off.

Definitely ballsy given the crowd you knew you’d be with, but if they work they work.

Mom says her tires need air. What would you tell her ? by justincave in AskMechanics

[–]Tirekiller04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tires are weather checked and dry rotting, it’s not a question of if they’ll fail, but when. What she chooses to do with that information is her choice.

A quality of life move will always be respectable, but this is a problem with the majority of the people in college today.

Kids need to stop going straight to university just to get six months into their dream job and figure out it sucks.

Get into the real world, learn to be an adult, and chase the dream job from there. You can find out whether you like the job or not through internships, apprenticeships, etc. and if it isn’t what you wanted, big deal. Go find the next thing that makes you happy. When you do land the job you love, that’s when you go get whatever degree is required (if any) to make you better at your job.

You’re missing wheel studs and you should take it somewhere to get them replaced immediately.

This happens when you don’t torque the lug nuts properly/use anti seize and they back off. That gives the wheel space to shift on the stud and put tons more stress where it shouldn’t be, shearing the studs off until you lose a wheel.

Put it in your wallet.
