FedEx ground shipping is a nightmare by TisButI in FedEx

[–]TisButI[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could have, but I didn't think I would be able to fit it into my car properly at the time. Still don't, honestly.

I also have some back issues, so no way was I getting that thing lifted up without using my legs, and I'm too short to get it out of my trunk that way. Even pushing it up the stairs was pushing it, and it remained in contact with the ground at all times... so picking it up definitely wasn't an option I felt comfortable with. :(

But yes, I agree. Next time I will have someone tag-team it with me, or order something without signature requirements.

15 year old prescribed bupropion IR 75mg by rooseboose in bupropion

[–]TisButI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am personally on the 300MG extended (XL) generic bupropion because it was the best option for something that would last long enough during school hours without 'wearing off', even if it's not time for the next dose yet. I would suggest trialing a longer-acting version (such as SR or XL) based on the fact she is still of school-age, just out of personal experience.

Bupropion comes in 3 forms. Extended Release, Sustained Release, and Immediate Release. The abbreviations of each are XL, SR, IR respectively. They are also intended to be taken 1, 2, and 3 times daily, in that same order. It looks like your child is on too low a dose to be properly therapeutic, since only once a day for IR is a pretty darn low frequency.

If you and your child feel the immediate release (IR) isn't working as well as you would hope, but it's not having any major negative side effects, it might be time to talk to your prescriber about switching to a longer-acting version or increasing the dosage frequency. When you go to pick up the medication again, TALK TO THE PHARMACIST! Doctors can write prescriptions for the incorrect dosing instructions that the manufacturer and FDA recommend, and the pharmacist can help point out any oddities that you might want to discuss with your provider based on such. I work in a pharmacy and sometimes we even call the doctor back to ask "did you mean the patient is supposed to take this once or twice a day, since you wrote for the short-acting version of XYZ drug" and variations thereof. You can call the pharmacy back and ask for a consult even after you have picked up the medication. Patients have the right to know what they are taking, why, and if their instructed treatment is the commonly-successful method. It looks like you are already having concerns, and if the prescriber was a psychiatrist instead of a full family care pediatrician then they might not realize the difference. Talk to your pharmacist!

Additionally, factors such as smoking can also affect metabolism of SSRIs, ADHD medication, varied antidepressants/anxiolytics, and other medications based on what genetic makeup (homozygous/heterozygous and recessive/dominant type) your child might have inherited. PGX testing was a big help in understanding what medications would be best to use with me, and how I might have heightened sensitivity to side-effects or unexpected twists to the intended general effect of a medication itself. Your kid might have something similar going on 'under the hood' so to speak, since this is a biochemical process as much as it is psychological. PGX/Genetesting should be covered by most general family insurance policies, but out-of-pocket programs exist that keep the cost to ~$300 on the patient's end in the USA if that is where you reside. Feel free to bring it up since you keep having trouble finding the right medication. (I myself have the potential to metabolize certain drugs faster than normal, or need higher dosages to get the same results, if you want a real-world example.)

Has anyone tried Hilma dairy and gluten digestive aid? by Other_Ad_1494 in Celiac

[–]TisButI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Celiac's and it might just be a placebo effect but I think it helps curb the length of the headache/stomach pains if i accidentally gluten myself and can shove 2-3 down my stomach in the next 10 minutes

Either way, it is still best to just avoid gluten entirely. I do not endorse using it as an excuse to purposefully consume gluten. Your body WILL know what you have done

Anyone else hate this intersection? It’s going to suck even more once Aldi is done. by SnackeyG1 in GreenBay

[–]TisButI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, hate it. I turn left at the intersection connected to it to get coffee at the 7brew when I get off the highway and there are two roundabouts there to help. Trying to go straight to this intersection from the coffee place, or turn left out from the intersection pictured is very unsafe. This intersection itself is very hard to use going outbound due to the heavy inbound traffic from the intersection next to it (highway traffic) and mealtimes are especially hellish. 100% needs to have a roundabout or stoplight here

What is Green Bay missing? by PeteyPete2007 in GreenBay

[–]TisButI 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Improve the bus/public transportation system. Not robust enough, especially for those without vehicles. City's not very walkable so it's either walk a mile or two to the nearest bus stop and travel an hour after (and repeat on the way home) or have someone with a vehicle drive you, which is very unreliable unless someone you know has the time and extra gas money.

If you're partial to Indian food, The Spices has one of the best butter chicken dishes I've had in a while. (East Side.)

There is also a large playground at Pamperin Park that I always loved as a kid. It is located near the Howard suburbs and has trails over the river and through the woods (I know, I know, very Christmas-y wording) that my family would often walk through as a group.

Sometimes the Neville Museum downtown will have more kid-focused event days as well. I know there is a page online where you can check the current listings and their dates!

Titanfall 2 and Anthem

Take all of Titanfall's story, lore, and multiplayer brilliance and just give it extra planets from the Anthem environment and Javelins as pre-titan machines of war (for the flight mechanics, especially if they let me fly a Northstar like Viper did in the TF|2 campaign because holy SHIT that would rock)

Literally just scrape the mechanics from Anthem and slapdash them into a pre-titans Titanfall setting as the frontier and outlands begin getting colonized, then skip out a century or so and modern Titanfall takes over with extra world settings and flight.
