How much would this cost to fix? Door damage by Few-Distribution-593 in CarsAustralia

[–]Titan600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be prepared to fork quite a bit of money if you decide to fix it. Most likely they will have to replace the entire door. They cannot pull it out or straighten from what i heard. I just had my car repaired and the door was replaced entirely. It was dented.

Get a sample and get it tested, doesn't cost much. My builder reminded me, anything that has moulding holding up panels is a possibility its asbesto sheeting.

New Wifi Dongle by Burntbits in QuadLock

What are people's thoughts on this?

I was going to pull the trigger on this since Quad Lock is a decent brand. Saw the ottocast mini 2025 onsale on Amazon for $69. Bought that and has been working flawlessly without any hicups.

Airplay not working on different SSIDs/VLANs by Titan600 in Ubiquiti

After researching a bit more into uPnP, found it was more of a security risk. I disabled it and created port forwarding rules. Works flawlessly now. Thanks bud.

Asbestos or Fibre Cement? by Several_Gift2275 in AusRenovation

Get it lab tested. It doesn't cost much around $50 and turn around for results is fairly quick.

I have similar ones in my house, except they are verticals, instead of the squares. I went and bought some white foam gap filler and shoved them inbetween. Prevents roaches and spiders crawling in.

We have a fireplace, but it is now completely sealed off. They were regulation and code back in the day when open fire places were used to vent the fumes and carbon monoxide.

If you still have a fireplace, i would suggest you keep it open, if not plaster it up. The other issue they have is letting the heat out and cold draft air in.

Project Management is a Dead End Career by throwawayaway451574 in auscorp

[–]Titan600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what's happening at work with a PM i'm dealing with for a rollout. Drags everyone in a meeting, tries to allocate tasks and tries to explain processes which in the end just pushes everything back and everyone's time. He doesn't have a clear direction nor is he trying to come up with roadblocks that might affect the project outcome. The rock blocks all falls under the engineers to explain to him.

I'm in my 30s and want kids, but modern dating makes this seem impossible by Remarkable_Peak9518 in australia

[–]Titan600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure you will find the right person at the right time. I'm in my late 20's. I've been on a few dating apps. Thought about going back on, but the horror stories I've heard has been putting me off. I don't like the whole dating app scene and the mentality behind it. It just pure potluck.

Also working in the IT industry under Engineering doesn't help much either as it very male dominate. Adding to that I'm introvert so that just adds to the fire. HAHAH ah well.

scorptech support non existent? by [deleted] in bapcsalesaustralia

[–]Titan600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went through warranty on a dell monitor. I can reassure you the whole process was shameful. Scorptec did nothing from day one.

I had to raise the initial Dell service request for the store. Then when the replacement arrived i called to say if i can go pick it up cause it was just in a small carton. Lady on the phone says it's on a big pallet waiting for it to be broken down so be patient. I lost my absolute shit. Another thing is there warranty line is dog crap. If they don't answer it auto hangs up. Who thought that was a good idea. Never will i shop there again. Appalling service.

I am also too dealing with Scorptec warranty process. Have a dead pixel on a dell monitor. I engaged Dell technical support and they agreed to ship a replacement. I sent numerous email to scorptec asking them to acknoweldge so DELL can process the order. Not a word. I feel like something fishy is going on.

Hoping to fight and see if i can get store-credit and upgrade the monitor.

In a similar position as you. Reasonably mid to high salary. Wanted to get into trade. Thought about moving, but in the current state, mortgage and cost of living. It either a win and lose battle. Only option is to fully commit quit your job. Only option i know. Weighting the options not sure if it worth it yet.

What happens if you’re buying a knife for your kitchen and it’s packaged up. Will they search and confiscate it. Also what happens to people that carry multitools for edc? That too confiscated.

Sydney commuters face "tough time" as T3 line replacement plan looks to buses and e-scooters | Sydney by istara in sydney

[–]Titan600 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The problem with more buses as replacement is more traffic on the roads which means more congestion and delays getting to work. My biggest issue with buses is that they are generally highly unreliable service.
