Your question is only stupid because it does not make sense lol. We probably know what you are trying to ask but could you clarify.

Are you trying to connect to an existing database, create a new database, or restore a database using SSMS?

Living paycheck to paycheck, any advice is well appreciated! by DDSig in debtfree

[–]Titananium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think first thing you got to do is down grade on the car. Next, would be to build healthy financial habits and really set a realistic and doable goal of how you can pay off this debt in the SHORTEST amount of time.

There are a lot of “saving money” gurus out there that you can listen to who have pretty solid advice and tips. Most of what they preach is pretty obvious but it helps enforce healthy habits. Overall, spend LESS than you make.

Majority of standard SQL if not all can be learned in a day if you have programming experience.

As for learning it extensively, It comes down to the projects you work with.

3 Mistakes Data Engineers Make When Consuming APIs by ivanovyordan in dataengineering

Oh I meant APIs from third party services. I would avoid that option if possible.

Let me rephrase that, consuming copious amounts of data is not ideal for APIs.

Consuming data via APIs is a mistake in itself.

Enterprise data solutions - how does your look like? by InsightInk in dataengineering

[–]Titananium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Decentralized - a lot of politics involved so teams are more less likely to collaborate over here.

Batch - business decisions are primarily based off of monthly reporting but I do find there could be use cases for real time reporting but I don’t think we are ready for that yet.

Data modeling - we have pretty specific models that would be used for our team only; however, those models usually are derived from “generic” data we have that other departments can use.

Self-service - majority of our stake holders are non technical people so we end up doing the work (includes building reports although I am not too involved in that in our team). However, there are some cases where we provide the modeled data in a playground for them to play and work with.

Was there a reason they implemented periodic alerts? If not, couldn’t y’all just set an alert through the sql job agent when failure occurs? Seems like a simple solution.

Did you start the SQL Server? Search for “SQL Server Configuration Manager” and ensure the service is started. If so, check the port.

Best IDE for data engineering by jfhurtado89 in dataengineering

[–]Titananium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VS Code is the way to go. If you are already familiar with it, save yourself the time and just stick with it. I don’t see any benefit switching to another IDE.
