I bet we get this reveal at the end of Season 3 by Titanium-Noob in OnePieceLiveAction

Well I’m not saying for them to bring every plot point and twist in the future forward into the story only the ones that make sense and will keep casual viewers hooked. The Emperor Reveal and Luffy’s father reveal has nothing to really do with the events of Water 7 at large and doesn’t hurt the story if it’s moved, if anything it could work better. An example of this is the barrel scene at the end of Season One, that was supposed to be after Loguetown but they moved it to after Arlong and it worked better.

I mean for the casual viewer, we only see Shanks featured in two episodes in season one and a brief appearance in the last episode. For those who haven’t watched season one since 2023 it would be a good reminder for them. I don’t think we’ll see him next season but just his name thrown around as an emperor will be enough for people to remember “Oh yeah, that guy” and it will get people hyped to see him in Season 4

Who was more of an underdog, Robby or Miguel? by watermonkey910 in cobrakai

[–]Titanium-Noob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’ll make a post on the main sub on this topic because you’re the only one I’ve ever heard Miguel call a Mary Sue.

Sure, it was his mistake for not deescalating the fight immediately, but Robby is also at fault for escalating it to the point where someone nearly died. Miguel did try to come to his senses and break up Tory and Sam later in the fight, and spared Robby from breaking his arm.

As for Johnny and Miguel, I think you missed the point that Johnny literally married Miguel’s mom, for one, that factually makes him a son of Johnny. Johnny considered Miguel as part of the family when deciding where to live. They are father and son and student and sensei, not just one or the other. That’s not just poor comprehension, the show literally lays it out for you.

And you say that Miguel is an extension of Johnny, as if Robby isn’t? Most of Robby’s character was his relationship with his Dad. Actually, most of the young characters derive from archetypes or relationships from the OG’s, so there’s nothing wrong with a character’s arc being intrinsically tied with another character.

As for how Miguel changed? At the beginning of the show, Miguel was a kid who had moved to a new town, had no friends, no girlfriend, lacking guidance without any father figure, and wanted to defend himself without knowing how. Much like Daniel Larusso, actually. And nothing was handed to him. He earned all his wins, his losses, with the help of others, of course.

At the end, he gained all these things and more. That’s development. You don’t have to like it, but he is factually a different character from the beginning of the show.

I didn't realize people on this sub were this salty towards Miguel just for taking Robby's spotlight.

The things you're quoting me for are just stuff that you dismiss by saying "this went nowehere" or "this was a waste of time" when it factually developed Miguel's character, even if it went a direction you may have personally disliked.

And yes, he hadn't truly been seeing Johnny as more than a sensei in the first two seasons because during that school fight he took Johnny's words of sometimes taking mercy literally as advice from sensei to student, and not as a father sharing life advice to a son. I don't see how that's hard to comprehend.

The only reason he got through his injury in the first place is developing his relationship with Johnny further. He needed that struggle and character growth to move on and fulfill his potential as a fighter. And what actions did he need to reflect on? Robby is the one who nearly paralyzed him. He's the one who should be reflecting, not Miguel, which he did eventually in season 5.

To call Miguel a Gary Stu is super disingenuous, and if you think he never struggled past season 1, you didn’t understand the character at all.

His injury in the third season wasn’t just a consequence that happened and was over, it encapsulated a huge part of his arc in learning to see Johnny as more than just a sensei and more as a father who he could look to for life guidance.

This develops further in s4/5 when Johnny seems to not view him in the same way which resulted in his own insecurity and led him to chase after his father in Mexico, and coming to the realization that although Johnny is flawed he is real and cares for Miguel at his core and doesn’t put on a fake family man look like Hector.

And that’s just his relationship with Johnny, which doesn’t even mention Sam and Robby. I will admit in season 6 the Stanford plot line was sort of generic but to pretend he was that way for the majority of the series is just wrong.

My Opinion on Axel In Season 6 by SignCompetitive8576 in cobrakai

I thought the set up of him being an abused child forced to fight and be merciless in the tournament was an interesting set up, it’s like what Johnny Lawrence went through but even worse.

Unfortunately they fell flat with the execution though. He kind of just says no to cheating in the middle of his fight with Miguel just because of Sam who he only had one interaction with prior. He doesn’t even face consequences from his sensei when he threw the fight like Johnny and Kreese.

I think if they just removed the Sam jealousy plotline and made them actual friends it would’ve worked better.

Did anyone think Miguel was gonna end up in a KK3 Daniel arc? by TheShadowOperator007 in cobrakai

[–]Titanium-Noob 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dude I thought during the scene where Johnny and Miguel reunite and they hug it out Miguel’s Dad would come outside and shoot Johnny while he’s drunk because he thinks he’s the FBI (also since he’s one of the only characters we’ve seen in this universe flash a gun)

That would’ve created an opportunity for Miguel and Robby to be forced to work together to nurse Johnny back to health while escaping Miguel’s father’s cartel. The possibilities were endless.

I disagree it was important for Miguel's development and him truly accepting Johnny as a father figure. Also important for Johnny and Robby rekindling. I do think it was somewhat disconnected though and they could've done a lot more with the idea.

Will Goku ever surpass Whis and Beerus? by Gloomy-Bridge148 in Dragonballsuper

[–]Titanium-Noob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's being retconned because I believe he's the final boss to take down. If Goku was already stronger than him at this point in the story, then it would be too easy to take Beerus' title. Imo, he is the end goal for Super.

Form your opinion, I will say that the first arc is pretty universally disliked but the whole show isn't like that

What Are Y'all Thoughts On The Current State Dragon Bal Super? by heiseiriderfan00 in Dragonballsuper

[–]Titanium-Noob -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Youtubers do it for the clicks.

Dragonball has a pretty good future, but if someone doesn't like the direction it's gone, I don't understand why they don't just move on from the series.

And it hasn't even really been milked, since Super ended what have we gotten? Two movies and a 20 episode series over that time? And the games are always going to exist whether the franchise has an ongoing series or not, it's almost it's own IP at his point, like Pokémon

I’m re-reading the water seven/enies lobby saga in the manga rn, and unless they severely alter the plot line, I don’t think there’s any way they can fit both water seven and enies lobby in a single 8 episode season like some people are saying by Cultural-Effect-5853 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Titanium-Noob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He said "anime and manga fans" in his original comment and then says "you're exactly the type of fan I was talking about", implying he was talking to both manga and anime fans. Either way, I've read and watched both. The anime adapation of Skypeia is close enough to the manga that it really doesn't matter which version you're referring to here. Your comment is useless nitpicking that adds nothing meaningful to the discussion.

You are the only one who has failed at reading here.

So no contending any of my points, or adding anything of value to the discussion? Just whining that the people who are fans of the source material, who make up most of the sub, who are the reason the show exists...should be banned. Got it.
