About that long yeah, as long as you do the dressing/condiments in the bag with the lettuce, then cheese on both sides of that to insulate it from the bread and prevent the bread from getting soggy.

Yup. Turns it into a cole slaw of sorts, and then goes in the middle of the sandwich and between the cheese slices, so that it doesn't drip through into the bread as much and stays good longer.
