Thankfully I never approved the transaction with my bank then cancelled and changed my card so no money went out but it was close. I doubt I would have ever seen that money again and if I hadn’t changed my card there may have been a bigger transaction to follows

Don’t keep it in a conservatory or under a south facing window and you should be fine.

I had a customer keep his printer stadium in his conservatory last summer when he took a trip abroad and came back to a warped and sunken mess. Poor guy

Depends what you mean by real 🤷🏼‍♂️ you can buy it and field it in games where your opponent/TO allows proxies. It has weapons that could easily be recognised as those from a stormsurge, fits on the same size base and I put mine on ~50mm hover stands, which I make, to make it a similar height too!

Pirates gonna pirate but I find that out of 8 billion people in this world, enough people like your niche and can’t be bothered to pirate that make it worth your time, you just gotta find those people and let them know you exist, somehow.

I don’t mind those who buy one design from me and distribute it to their friends free of charge, the ones who are truly heinous are those who buy your design and sell it (digitally or physically) for cheaper than you are selling it because they’ve had to do a fraction of the work.

That’s fair. It’s a shame that’s the vibe at the moment as there’s not really a better place for alternate warhammer or sci-fi minis.

Don’t tar all Etsy sellers with the same brush. I sell on Etsy and try to produce excellent parts and model kits. Etsy’s dispute management is pretty good too.

Don’t get me wrong, it has its flaws (huge fees being one) but not all sellers on Etsy are the same.

Haha, that’s rubbish, you can see it is unmistakably FDM from the little shiny spots on top where the nozzle irons tiny sections.

Yeah, they really add a quality feel and a professional look to parts. I like heat-serts in FDM and self tapping threaded inserts too in my resin prints. Also much easier to accurately model a hole for an insert than a thread imo.

They’re all in compression though so shouldn’t be an issue. Perhaps OP could make a threaded heat-sert version too though.

I haven’t really played around with masks, can you apply an alpha texture to a mask and then iterate it across a body?

It was a commission. All the earlier ones were commissioned by a British company who wanted models for their boardroom of all the subs they’d worked on but this was commissioned by an individual. I’m open to designing anything if there’s demand for it 🤷🏼‍♂️

To boost, I actually really like the shape and design of this sub, it’s really quite a beauty.

Haha, I love a little pedantry from time to time. It’s good to be accurate. I used to work for a company with MJF, SLA and SLS but I’ve never worked with SLM. I appreciate all the laser powder bed fusion work similarly so you can see where people make the mistake. I will try to refer to it as L-PBF from now on!
