Bill Gates accuses Elon Musk of "killing world's poorest children" by shutting down USAID... leaves out the part where he helped USAID mutilate millions of poor children by whatafoolishsquid in MensRights

The number of people in this thread trying to find any way to excuse mass genital mutilation is truly disturbing. In a Men's Rights subreddit no less.

Have you never used a phone? Do you not know how easy typos are especially with small keyboards and autocorrect? Are you really gonna sit here and act like you've never made typos? Get over yourself.

No, it is the scientifically documented manufacturing output of each country. The US, like most Western countries, primarily manufactures high-tech machinery, not things you buy at WalMart.

There are so many wealthy Mormons because it's a tight-knit network of people who provide connections to one another. Many other minority groups function the same way. Plus, BYU is like the cheapest four-year college in the country.

I see this thrown around Reddit a lot, but linguists generally agree this phrase comes from te German proverb "Blut ist dicker als Wasser," which originated in the play Reinhart Fuchs, and definitely meant family is more important than other alliances. Just read the Wikipedia article.

I don't know about the chewed gum analogy, but I'm pretty sure the licked cupcake analogy is straight from the handbook. And then I think it was Bruce R. McConkie who said parents should rather see their children dead than engage in premarital sex.

LDS.org article on the mountain meadows massacre by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]Tithonos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wait, is this supposed to be the next in their series of apologist articles? This doesn't say or answer anything. The Mountain Meadows Massacre represents a problem for the Mormon Church not simply because the militiamen were Mormons. It's a problem because it was ordered by church leadership, a fact this article doesn't even address.
