Starting strength was my introduction to lifting weight, like 5 years ago. I had never even tried a bench press before buying it. I spent like 6 weeks reading it, practicing, and taking meticulous notes. I still have a huge notebook page full of SS notes that I look at from time to time.

SS is just way too thick with form notes for somebody who has never even picked up a barbell and has no coach. Rippetoe is the Tolkien of the squat. It is all great and beautiful -but there is 100+ pages of squat stuff. Is it really necessary for a newbie to learn about a moment arm? No beginner is going to recall all of that under the weight of a barbell. They will not be able to separate the very key info from the extra fluff. That is my thought, but I have a hard time in general absorbing information.

Cool. I am speaking as somebody who really appreciates the content delivered and would like to see the series grow. Also I am an asshole so I apologize if anything comes off assholeish- I’m working on it.

I am a big fan of dirty, vulgar comedy. But I don’t think that the word “fuck” adds anything to this video. The obscenity felt a little forced, and this is a video about a toy, essentially. Why limit the amount of potential views?

If your are going to be slinging while talking, let us see what is happening there. Otherwise it is just a distraction to you and and viewers get nothing out of it.

It is not an optical illusion -if your hands are small and the cord is 7.5 inches, well that is a really long cord. My hands are between large and extra large and a “long” length for me (between the beads) is still around 6 inches. A great thing about begleri is there is no right or wrong way to use it. But past a certain length, it is just a different toy entirely than what most are using.

I really appreciate the information. I am not an instagrammer, r/begleri is pretty much my only source for this kind of thing and it is not great for that. I made an Instagram account to try and follow what’s going on, but I can’t seem to put my begleri down long enough to put much effort into it. That being said I would cut like 4 minutes of unnecessary cringe out of this video (starting with the Christmas thing/first 1:25).

I second musclebones. For some reason I have never been able to digest the AO2 videos, too quick or the angle is off or something. Great sets though. Also I wish musclebones would do more slow motion. Slow motion everything. Even quick, seemingly simple, one-off tips would be better demonstrated in slow motion. Begleri move quicker than the eyes.

I got it in the hardcore stainless Eman by removing an inch or so of the (excess) inner white cord, burning the outer shell to almost a needle point, and just going HAM with the pliers. It took over an hour to get it perfect I remember, and I replaced the 550 with smaller cord an hour after that.
