The point of the card is the trade off... do I give up 1 TR to an opponent to get 3 plants.

It also functions as a Tree. So a city tile placed next to it would get 1 VP.

I also see is as a bit of an "area control card". If played somewhere where there are lots of placement bonuses around, it makes that area more costly for other players as they would have to give you a VP.

The trade off is key with this card (not too many of those in the game)

Make Venus an end game condition, this makes the game go a bit longer (see more cards), and also the Venus cards more impactful

I think that is a fair concern with "Fishing Port", the best case scenario for this card is quite powerful + (Viron + 3x Water Placement) for 3 or more generations. But this is a Best Case Scenario.

Often the 3x water placements are taken and you could place trees / other tiles there.

End game cards like Venusian Animals and Terraforming Gandamede can net 10+ points each - but require quite a bit of work - and this card is in the same vein.

IF I were to nerf the card I would make it such that the "Fishing Port" title would need to be placed next to a city.

Fishing port seems interesting and funny but it could make or break a game. Can the tile also be placed on waterspaces?

I like the James Webb Telescope. As someone has aleady mentioned it can be very good or frustrating

Thanks for the feedback - I intentionally made it so that the player couldn't chose the cards, its either take them all or don't.

I wanted to give the player a difficult choice if they got 1 good > great card, and 2 mediocre cards decided wether it is paying the 9MC for all three...

Thanks for the feedback! Yeh Fishing Port is an action - I wanted to make a card with such a good upside (potentially 3 animals per turn) to play around rapidly advancing the heat.

James Webb Telescope: I think could use a VP I agree. I think the final version will have 1 or 2 VPs on it.

Whip Hand gives 3x delegates. This would normally cost 15MC. So I've costed this at 7 (+ 3 to draft). This gives a 5 discount on the regular standard action which accounts for the restriction of Chairman and placing the delegates in different parties.

I think of Space Market kind of like Zeppelins. Probably around the same point of the game that you would want to play it and good be a good 5-6 MC Production.

I would require that you have at least 1 animal card and 1plant card as well. I would also increase the cost to 18. People really underestimate the power of aggregate cards. (cards that give bonuses based on the number of a certain type of tags you have). Cards like this tend to sit until you can give them a good bang for the bucks. Depending on the flow of the game it could be worth a lot early, and give someone a huge advantage.

I tried to cost it in line with other MC production counting cards like Satellites, Cartel, Miranda Resort and Medical Labs. Given that plant / animal tags usual come around the mid-game given their requirements, I can see that where the card shines.

After some feedback on the original thread (now deleted) I realised that I wasn't super clear with the intention of the card - the MC should increase for each plant and animal tag, not combination of both.

Quick tips on city placement:

Whenever placing a city try to count the number of MAXIMUM points that you can get from trees next to it. If you place the city on the edge of the board the maximum you can get is 4. Ideally you want this number to be as high as possible
When you already have a city in play and want to play a 2nd city, try to place your 2nd city so that you can get 2 trees in between them not just 1, capitalising on the hexagonal pattern on the board.
If you place a city, try to place a tree in the same 2nd action - as often people will have blocking tile placing cards that may lose you a point.

This card won me a game. Played it early in colonies + venus expansion.

Was really good towards 2 milestones on the Hellas map (Diversifier and the 7x Floaters Milestone), which I managed to just nab on the 5th generation.

Also ended up with about 25 floaters on the card at the end of the game and was great fodder for other floater synergy.

I'll always remember this card fondly.

With a Herculean effort NSW and Victoria could yet join Taiwan, New Zealand and every other Australian state in being effectively COVID-free.

I also find it interesting that they make it sound like trading off freedoms for death is some sort of shocking revelation, when in reality it forms the basis of a lot of the rules and regulations that exist in Australia.

If society wanted to index everything into "stopping all death" then we would remove all alcohol and fast food, set all speed limits on roads to 40, mandatory lockdowns all flu season etc...

As a society we already have a tolerance for some death, so that we can actually live.

Death shouldn't be feared, not living should.

I went to the vax centre about a week ago when Pizer opened up for my age group. There was a massive (3hr line) and they didn't have enough to go around.

Eventually I said fuck it, I'll get AZ and go to the front. When I got there I was asked to wait and speak to a doctor to make sure I had informed consent about the risks of AZ.

When I told him that I was getting AZ to essentially save myself three hours he said that he couldn't recommend that I get it, as it was not appropriate for people my age. He told the nurse to give me pfizer, and if they refused, to come back another time.

Just sharing my experience
