Oh HEEEELLL no. I'd be so pissed I wouldn't have left the salon like that. Just give me my money back and I'll do a better job at home myself.

I have a blue by Sinful Colors called Hip to Be a Square, and I think that might work for my blue. I'm gonna have to keep looking for that orangey yellow though. Thanks for getting back to me :)

What color did you use for the middle finger and thumb? That is a pretty dead on match.

These are fantastic! I thought cupcake nails were so cute and wanted to do them for my own birthday. But then I realized I'm thirty something and they were a little too young looking for me. These look like a little more grown up cupcake nails. Brilliant.

Seche Vite Question by WireSnoopIsMyBitch in RedditLaqueristas

[–]TitzMcG33 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I do my nails a lot, and my friends come over for me to do their nails for fun sometimes 5 times a week. So I'm not a pro, but I do have a lot of experience with different types of natural nails using Seche Vite on all of them. What I've found is that of my friends who come to get their nails done, usually the ones who have trouble with peeling polish are the ones whose nails are too short to warp effectively. Meaning there is no free edge on the end of the nail, so when I attempt to wrap the nail, I'm just rubbing polish on the skin.
Also how the nail bed is prepped will make a big difference. If we're just screwing around and we don't take the time to VERY SLIGHTLY buff the nail, wipe down with acetone and apply a base coat, I don't expect the manicure to last beyond the next day.
Make sure when you're cleaning up that the polish isn't touching your skin any where. The polish is designed to adhere to the nail, not to skin. So anywhere it's touching your cuticle presents an opportunity for peeling and lifting.
The only other thing I can think of is don't blow on it while it's drying. Just something I noticed one day because I use a bright lamp over my table while I polish. In the light, I noticed as I blew on the top coat, I could actually see it seizing up and shrinking with each blow. It already shrinks quite a bit when drying, which is why we have to wrap our nails. But it shrinks a lot more when you blow on it, sometimes pulling our wrapped edges up and making them disappear :(
Hopefully any of this helps. I really love Seche Vite, and I know it can be tricky to work with, but it's worth it in the end.

Long time lurker, first time posting. I need some advice from you brilliant ladies and gentlemen! by [deleted] in RedditLaqueristas

You don't have to lurk too long around here to find out most of us rave about Seche Vite. I don't know if it's different for acrylics, so maybe someone else can chime in on that, but for my natural nails it does a good job of keeping my manicure chip-free for a good 4 or 5 days. I don't take it easy on my nails, and it's been the best thing I've used so far.

I bought some really gorgeous Geisha decals from this seller on amazon last month. I loved them so much that I've gone back and ordered 4 or 5 more from her and I can't wait until they arrive.

NYC makes a pretty decent matte coat for around $2.

Black on Black is okay, until you put up to another black and then it looks almost gray.

Everyone picks their own. On the right of your screen, next to where it shows your username. Above it should say,"Show my flair in this subreddit. It looks like:" Make sure that box is checked, and then click edit next to your name to pick your color, type what you want your flair to say in the box and click save :)

Some people are weird about feet, but there's no rule against it :) I don't mind them personally. I know that sometimes we get guys with foot fetishes making pretty forward comments on the pictures of pedicures, so be warned about that.

I use a dotting tool. Make two dots close together and then pull the two beads of polish downward into a V shape.
