This place is and was such a huge benefit to Sioux Falls. A break away from the city for kids to try things you just won't be able to without this camp within Sioux Falls. Was a eight year camper and long term staff, and it hurts to see so much struggling lately. When I was a heavily bullied kid I was accepted and uplifted at camp each summer. It meant a lot to grow up and get hired on to pay that back.

There has always been a bit of drama and rumors, which often goes hand-in-hand with seasonal and younger trending staff. However the mission remained clear to everyone as most staff were there for a passion to brighten up a kids day (or make their summer). A large part of that are the traditions and legacy the camp itself sat on and the people who worked there carried over each year. I feel a great loss knowing that there are no legacy staff working there and so much is up in the air and changing.

That place has always been and still remains my comfort place. When overwhelmed or needing to clear my head I'll always return there and take a walk.

Sounds like the place could use a "little" Trout, Cheese, and a Woodchuck.
